Answer Monday! (Football Forum, Baby)
You ask, we answer.
Q: Why did Pete Carroll put Joe McKnight to return punts all of a sudden? Is this another example of special treatment?
A: As long as the game is not close, he will gradually work McKnight back into returning punts because he is enamored with his speed.
Q; If Missouri beats OU, do you think Coaches/Harris voters would vote USC over Texas because Texas is not a conference champ and USC is? If you were one of those voters, would you vote USC over Texas?
This is assuming of course that USC beats UCLA.
A: No, I don't think the majority of voters care who is the conference champ. I believe they only worry about who is the best team. Texas would have wins over Oklahoma, Missouri and Oklahoma State, so I think that would keep them ahead of USC.
Q: What are your thoughts on Marc Tyler as far as:
-The progress he's made this year and where it may put him in next year's depth chart.
-His upside vs. Allen Bradford's.
-Is he "the real deal" as some say, or has he only looked good due to the garbage time minutes he gets vs. beat down opponents.
A: There is some truth to the fact Tyler's come in when it is the optimum time to run the ball. But he's also shown some flash and I think he deserves some quality time. He is different back than Bradford, who is more of a power back while Tyler is a conventional-type back. I think he'd be playing quite a bit if he were at Notre Dame, so I think he's a real deal, but he needs playing time, which is the usual dilemma.

Thanks for the insight on Marc Tyler.
The tailback rotation looks to be interesting next year... again.
Hey Sam...."insight" from Wolf? You must be kidding. He said nothing different about Marc that hasn't been said by many on this board.
