Answer Tuesday! (SG Forum, Part 3)
How about that Nittany Lion getting arrested? That might be the highlight of going to the Rose Bowl.
Q: If USC does end up playing Texas in a bowl game, will they replace their mascot Bevo with their true lucky charm and greatest supporter - former Song Girl Natalie Nelson? They have a perfect record against USC when she's been in the stadium!
A: Alas, we'll never know, but the Nittany Lion was arrested for a DUI, so maybe he will cheer for USC by accident.
Q: All the official propaganda of the Song Girls now refer to the squad as "The World Famous USC Song Girls." Everything from the website to PR fluff pieces include the phrase "World Famous," but if you think about it, the only reason anyone outside of the USA would even know about the Song Girls would be due to that one former Song Girl (Nelson) cheering for Texas, right? Seriously, what else would people in Thailand, Kenya and Lithuania know about the USC Song Girls other than the incident of one of them cheering for another team? So how dubious is the phrase "World Famous" when referring to the USC Song Girls?
A: It's kind of like the band calling itself the greatest band in the universe. The reasons are irrelevant as long as everyone knows who you are.
Q: Do you have a current pix of Pillsbury or not? Nothing else matters.
A: Yes, but I'm trying to get permission from the photographer first because he did not send it to me.
Q: Whether the legendary Tricia Pillsbury -- who represents all that is good and pure about USC -- was a print journalism major is now part of a mass conspiracy with various points of view both pro and con. Can we consider this controversy to also fall under the auspices of Song Girlgate or does it have its own name of Song Girl Print Journalism Majorgate?
A: Or SGPJM for short. Why are there no friends of Tricia Pillsbury to come forward on this issue?

Just how many times do I have to say this?! Tricia Pillsbury WAS a print journalism major.
