Sark Attack

For those keeping score, Steve Sarkisian's hired two USC strength coaches, tried to hire two assistant coaches (Rocky Seto, Yogi Roth), hired an administrative staff member and offered another a graduate assistant's position.
Does he know anyone outside USC? Can't he go hire some people at El Camino College?

Scott,

I've got to admit when you've said something intelligent. I think your question is very dead on and something the Huskies need to be cautious of. Of course, emulating a Pete Carroll program isn't all bad.

I think Wolf hates Sarkisian and blames him for Norm Chow leaving.

He almost hates Sark as much as he does Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart.

Here's the deal: Willingham and his staff pretty much ran the last of our train (which was already jumping the tracks and careening out of control) off and over the cliff. Our Washington program has obviously had some serious problems the last few years. No doubt coach Sarkisian's hire is a risky one and considering the precarious state of our football program has a real potential to backfire. I obviously can't speak for everyone in Seattle but in my opinion almost any coach and his staff is a huge step up from Willingham and some of his clowns masquerading as position coaches. In a word: they sucked. And sucked hard. There's not enough space on this blog to detail even a fraction of the poor calls and decisions made on and off the field these last four years. We lost to WSU in this year's Apple Cup for Christ sake!!!

So far at least I think coach Sark is saying all the right things to the alumni, fans, administration and media. He's moving quickly and decisively in regards to local recruiting and staff assembly all while juggling his outgoing duties for the upcoming Rose Bowl. My take is that most UW fans are more excited and ready to play ball than we have been in years. I can't imagine any coach being part of a top caliber football program hasn't picked up something, anything worthwhile to bring over to his new digs. And as was just said above in a previous comment - emulating a Pete Carroll program can't be all that bad!

How does it work? I mean Sark is still on the SC staff, he still conducts meetings etc., he meets with Pete, does he tell Pete who he is going after? or does he do it on the side?
