Ah, brings back memories of the "LB Poly 4".

Once of the most overhyped parts of the Pete Carroll era by all the C&G glasses wearing rah rahs.

This "cant miss" group was supposed to be the greatest recruiting hall EVER. Who can forget the "THE LB POLY 4 ARE COMING" posts.

Result: Overhyped busts!!

Dennis...bust.
Justice...6 sacks allowed in 1 NFL game. Gratz.
Bing...they let him wear a retired jersey? LMAO.
Manny...no need to comment.

And USC'89, what have you ever accomplished other than a demonstrated ability to whine and complain? You're the type of guy that would prefer to not try for fear of failure.

Hey USC89:

Hershel Dennis injured his knees. Injuries can happen to anyone. It's not fair to say he was a bust. Also, the team's performance did not suffer from his injury insofar as Bush and White were superb. He played well when healthy (notwithstanding a critical fumble in OT against Cal in 2003 loss). He was suspended for two games. He showed much resolve by hanging in there for six years.

Bing had a successful career at USC (although not enough to bring Garrett's jersey out of retirement):

Honorable mention All-Pac-10 (2003)
Sporting News Pac-10 Freshman of the Year (2003)
Sporting News Freshman All-American (2003)
Second-team All-Pac-10 (2004)
First-team All-Pac-10 (2005)
First-team AP All-American (2005)
Jim Thorpe Award semifinalist (2005)
Lott Trophy quarterfinalist (2005)

Bing should have stayed one more year at USC. He is currently on the Lions' roster after being cut by three other teams.

Justice started well in his first two years, only to screw himself with a (fake?) gun incident in 2004. He too should have stayed another year. Still, he was a highly regarded player coming out of high school, and would have been accepted at any BCS school (not sure about his grades, though). He is still on the Eagles, but has only played in 4 games this year. In the offseason, he has helped orphans in Africa whose parents died from AIDS.

Wright was making progress at USC. He was behind Cody and Patterson. He busted into the starting line-up in 2004 (when Cody slid to DE), but he failed academically. He was embarassed in Miami, but he is actually a Super Bowl champion with the NY Giants last year (before being released this year).
