ABC Calling
ABC want a USC game on its Championship Saturday in December and the USC-UCLA game is not being moved from November, so that's why the Trojans moved their game with Arizona to Dec. 5.
UPDATED: One reason the USC-UCLA game was not moved to December is because Fox Sports controls the decision.

Money talk. The poser of ABC's money
Hard to believe the UCLA game couldn't be moved since last year they amassed 76 yards in the first half against USC and Craig James couldn't wait to say, "I was sure impressed by UCLA!" at halftime...
That's a championship caliber squad across town...if you're a freaking blind man.
Good! It's time to devalue the crumbling bRuins.
You know losing 8 in row to UCLA back in the 90's isn't that far behind you. It will all come back around and bite you in the a$$. With everyone leaving $c from staff members to players you should watch your own backyard. I think petey is starting to hear footsteps!!
losing 8 in a row is an eternity ago. UCLA isn't even in the same discussion as Pac 10 powers these days.
Pac-10 spokesman Jim Muldoon said the reason for the switch was that Fox Sports, which has broadcast rights to USC-UCLA every four years, wanted to move USC-UCLA off Dec. 5.
However, ESPN still wanted USC in the December slot, Muldoon said, and got the Trojans and Arizona to switch from their original Oct. 10 date.
Muldoon said the move had nothing to do with USC-Arizona being a more competitive game than USC-UCLA.
"No, that was not the case," Muldoon said.
UCLA finished 4-8 last season while Arizona capped a 7-5 year with a win over Brigham Young in the Las Vegas Bowl.
The last time UCLA and USC did not close the Pac-10 season against each other was 2002. That year, UCLA and USC played on Nov. 23, with UCLA then playing Washington State on Dec. 7 in what turned out to be UCLA Coach Bob Toledo's final game.
Seriously Cruin.........why are contantly on a Trojan Blog? Probably because there's nothing interesting about the ruins.

You get the idea
RTR,
Good post. ESPN/ABC owns college football, what do they care if they hurt the Westweirders feelings? Those idiots Skippy and Yoda couldn't even hold on to their prize OL recruit Stan Hasiak, losing him to Cal! The kid would rather go to a dumpster fire of a school than hang his hat with a bunch of Ruin losers.
The ucla game was not normally the last game of the season. Every other year it was always ND and the season ended on thanksgiving.
and the fact that it's "Championship" weekend and the UCLA team sucks ass.
That was probably a consideration as well...
In all honesty, ABC is doing the ruins a big favor. They're going to be blown out on national TV to open the season at Tennessee. Do they really want to end their season the same way? And given that they'll be 4-7 or so going into the SC game, what business would they have playing on "Championship Saturday"? The apologist LA Times took great pains to write that they move had nothing to do with ucla sucking, but that Fox wanted the change. Right. Did ABC ask the ruins to move a game to Dec.5? Dream on, ruins.
Hey RTR-
USC closed the regular season against Oregon St in 2003-remember Mike Williams' one-handed catch?
