Advantage, Versus?
Pete Carroll said last night the Pac-10's 5-0 bowl record ``obviously proves the regard for our schedule wasn't accurate.''
But the truth is the Pac-10 has the worst bowl arrangements in the country, so it plays a lesser opponent. For example, Oregon, the Pac-10's No. 2, defeated Oklahoma State, the Big 12's No. 4. And Cal, the Pac-10's No. 4, played a home against Miami, the ACC's No. 6/7.
So it's not quite so simple as lauding the conference's bowl record.

Sorry wolfie... no dice on this argument... arizona beat a team ranked higher, oregon beat a higher ranked team, osu beat a higher ranked team, and cal did what it should against Miami (a team that many thought was the cream of the ACC crop).
So, I appreciate your hard work, but this argument is not your best. Keep trying though!!! I'm sure you'll find a way to discredit USC and the Pac 10 even more!!!
Jesus effing Christ, Scott, you are the biggest asswipe EVER and this blurb proves it! You just take some stats here and there and make up your own facts. Can you say one thing ONE THING decent about SC's team ever? I swear I will punch you in the face if I ever see your fat bald head not shoved up your butt.
Thanks for pointing that our, cheata. Cheata 1, Wolfie 0.
Wolf...the Pac 10 were underdogs on all of those bowl games except the Rose Bowl!
It's still too early to have the conversation. No doubt the Trojans were very impressive yesterday afternoon. They need to be credited with lots of style points. But we need to see what happens with Texas and with the BCS NC. It doesn't matter who wins. It matters how they win. It's not even about margins of victory.
In voting your AP card, you are evaluating who the best team is and who would win head to head between each slot and the one below it. The BCS computers handle strength of schedule. AP voters don't need to be that smart -- or vindictive.
Scott, Just change a few team names and conferences, you have the following argument:
"But the truth is the SEC and Big-12 have the worst schedules in the country, so they play lesser opponents. For example, Oklahoma, the Big-12's No. 1, defeated Chattanooga, the Southern Confernce No. 9. And Florida, the SEC's No. 1, played a home (game) against the Citadel, the Southern conference's No. 7.
So it's not quite so simple as lauding the regular season record."
Keep at it, and I'm sure you can come up with a half-baked argument that comes remotely close to proving that USC isn't as good or better than Florida, OU or Texas.
Scott, why not also look at the Big 12 bowl schedule ? The Mississippi vs TT game says a lot about the Big 12 and SEC.
Looks like Oklahoma's biggest win was against TCU.
Wolf, what is your fracken problem? Anything to discredit USC.
Oregon State beat a higher ranked Pitt.
Oregon beat a higher ranked Oklahoma State from the Big 12 South that you loved so much.
Arizona beat a higher ranked BYU.
You are such a little man.
Scott knows that the Pac-10 underdogs defeated #13 Oklahoma St., #17 BYU and #18 Pitt, and that USC throttled #6 Penn State. He just said this stupid thing so that he can get the comment totals up. It worked.
Wolf, what is your fracken problem? Anything to discredit USC.
You kept saying that you ranked Texas Tech over SC because it was from the Big 12 South. Look at it now. Oregon beat a higher ranked Oklahoma State. Texas Tech got crushed by Mississippi.
You are a little man.
I thought Penn St is the Big-10 champ ... as in first in their conference. Does that fit in here somewhere?
wow that's a bunch of mealy mouth crap huh?
Know where else your going to see posts like this? On SEC and Big 12 boards. All the SEC honks who sit online all day in their mom's basement thinking up BS reasons like this to prove that the pac 10 sucks.
SW's final pre-bowl top 5 rankings...
1. Florida
2. Texas
3. Oklahoma
4. Alabama (oops--lost to #8 Utah)
5. Texas Tech (oops--lost to #19 Mississippi)
So far, so bad. So if Texas loses to Ohio State and Oklahoma defeats Florida, you couldn't have done any worse. Good job!
