Carroll Fires . . . And Hires
Pete Carroll fired defensive line coach Dave Watson and hired former Raiders special teams coach Brian Schneider, a crony of Lane Kiffin. Apparently, Caesar and I are on the same page even though people told me in Monday's chat that special teams did not need a coach.
What's interesting is USC sent out a statement around 10 p.m. tonight, obviously trying to bury the firing. Or did Caesar send it out after I told him I was writing about it for tomorrow.
Scott, this hire was reported Tuesday morning in the SF Chronicle. Tsk, tsk.
And from what I understand, the guy never even crossed paths with Lane Kiffin until 2007, when he was legitimately hired. Just because he worked for Lane Kiffin for one season makes him a "crony"?
Your lack of both objectivity and knowledge of football is

Remember when the Ruins made that improbable, lucky run a few yrs ago because of Drew's amazing punt and kick-off returns ? This "Kiffin crony" was the brains behind it.
