Carroll Hires

Pete Carroll announced Carl Smith will call plays and be the QBs coach. He refused to discuss the defensive coordinator's position because he said he had not made a decision. Rocky Seto and Ken Norton appear to be the candidates. Carroll said he would NOT become the defensive coordinator officially, like in his first six seasons.
Carroll also said he hired Mark Jackson as senior associate athletic director for football, a new position because Carroll said the program's grown and needs someone to handle the added duties.
Mark Sanchez is meeting with Carroll right now. Josh Pinkard and C.J. Gable met this morning with Carroll. No one has made any decisions yet. Pinkard is still not sure if he will get a sixth year of eligibility.
