Et Tu, Brute?
We held out for a couple weeks, but from now on Washington coach Steve Sarkisian will officially be known as Brutus on this blog, after his strategy to try and turn USC commitments James Boyd and Simione Vehikite to the Huskies backfired.
It might not be unethical (it's competing!) but it's sure frayed a relationship that seemed like a father-son pairing over the years at USC.
The nickname was sealed when you consider Caesar's quote, ``You too my son, will have a taste of power.''
So far, that power seems to be getting misused as much as anything else. But perhaps this is somewhat fitting, as Norm Chow's considered his one-time protege a Brutus for three years now.
Do we get prophetic points for coming up with the Caesar nickname for Pete Carroll now?

No
What, not Nero??
No, but how about getting out of bed and doing your job? Why is it that Brian Dohn is much more informed about recruiting than you? Oh, that's right, you spend all your time coming up with stupid nicknames.
Scott your Caesar references are so old that they just sound GAY! Please for the love of God quit.
come now, he also maintains an unhealthy lust for that butterpface cheerleader at Oregon day in and day out. that takes a ton of time.
Stay classy, Free Lendale!

It is very telling that Norm Chow has not spoken to Steve Sarkisian in years. It has been said on the Internets that Sarkisian put a knife in Chow's back in order to get the OC position and force Chow out. That is pretty dispicable if true.
Recruiting on the other hand, is a different beast. Coach Pete Carroll has always poached players that were committed to other teams, and actually viewed the poaching tactic as competing. So I would say that Sarkisian has learned well from his other mentor, Carroll. It is not treasonous or back-biting the hand that fed you for so long, so no, the Brutus nickname does not fit Sarkisian. There are many more nicknames that one can think of for Sarkisian.
LAWYER JOHN
PeterDalis,
Maybe I should just check with your "source" for recruiting? Is he done cleaning the pool yet?

Prophetic points? No. But you're racking up the pathetic points like a game of pinball.
The whole ancient Rome thing is just a dead horse you continue to insist on beating.
Damn is Pete naive!
This is a USC Trojan blog.
Rome? Caesar?? Brutus???
Could it just be dropped and talk sports?
