We hear the fact USC wanted Tyler Gaffney to play fullback caused him to cancel his visit this weekend because he really wants to be Toby Gerhart. Gaffney will announce his choice Monday and Stanford is the leader.

No big loss. There are limited rides left and other higher priorities. ie. XSF, Kennard, Te'o
I guess it's better than having a disgruntled player that transfers in two years.

And we told Terrel Pryor TE.
Better to be honest with recruits in the beginning.
Good for PC.

Good luck Tyler....I don't recall the last RB from Stanford that actually made it to the league....But maybe you will play on Sundays after all....in an adult flag football league sometime.

Stanford is racking up some top recruits!
Could end up being the highest ranked Pac 10 recruiting bunch behind USC.
It would be a shame to lose this kid. I envisioned him being a big nasty dominant FB/RB. He was a devastating runner in high school. Nasty and unstoppable. I sure hope that the kid decides to compete here. He's smart also, and could probably actually win some decent playing time, especially as fragile as Havili seems to be. It would be a significant loss imho.

I've watched him play. He is great! Not sure he will be all that in college. He is a mold of fullback though and plasy some secondary. Fast but not quick. I think he will have some issues in college with faster and quicker players on the other side of the ball.

Two words for Gaffney: MARCUS ALLEN
