Love it! Maybe he can bring half empty crowds to Oakland like he did to USC. No one was wearing USC clothes back then...the Trojan bandwagon was empty.

I FINALLY believe Al Davis has lost it.
Paul Hacket was always so upbeat after a loss. I remember them losing a game 17 to 13 or 14 and he was trying to explain to the USC faithful that this was a good loss to a good Pac Ten team. Oakland, you can have him!
I don't know why Paul Hackett gets a bad reputation around here. It is well known and documented on the Internets that the problem with the Programme at that time was talent level, not coaching. John Robinson II had left the cupboard bare, extremely bare. Not much Coach Hackett could do with the players he inherited.
If only Coach Hackett would have had 2 or 3 more years of recruiting, he would have turned the ship around and won a Pac-10 Championship.

LJ, your speculation might be correct about winning "a" Pac-10 championship, but if Hackett stayed, we don't get Carroll.
