Well, that was a nice Rose Bowl. All 28 minutes of it. And this is precisely why all the propaganda about how happy USC was to play in the Rose Bowl is irrelevant.
This is not the opponent that gets you to No. 1. Or No. 2. And that really should be all USC worries about because it's now been three years since the Trojans played for the national championship.

USC can never do enough in SW's eyes! The National Championship is mythical and subjective at best. Nobody really knows until it is played on the field. And with the SEC and East Coast bias, USC will never have another MNC because they are always underachievers, right SW? According to this comment, even if USC goes undefeated, they may not be good enough unless they have a +50 point winning margin. I guess we will never know who the real champion is. All this talk is propoganda at best!

UCLA fans have a lot of spare time to comment in this blog. Their football team is spending another New Year's Day watching the Rose Bowl on TV, and drooling as the Trojans beat the word-deleted-here out of another Big Ten team.
If I were a UCLA fan, I would keep my mouth shut and try to figure out how, with Walker leaving and Chow saddled with junior-college-caliber talent, is going to field an effective offense next season. Meanwhile, Coach Slick Rick New Weasel is "on vacation with his family" instead of huddling with his coaching staff, trying to figure out who the next defensive coordinator's going to be, what recruits to zero in on, and what JC transfers could help right away next season.
But what they hey, it's UCLA, and I don't really give a crap if they suck again next season.
