We'll really miss him. Can't really blame him for leaving, as promising as next year looks. Then again, can't really blame PC either.

Pete Carroll to Recruits: "Come to USC, I'll help you prepare for the NFL...unless you declare for the draft before I want you to..then I'll bad mouth you and try to lower your draft appeal at your press conference. Doesn't matter if you are guaranteed to be a 1st round Top 5 pick and you'll graduate from school on time. It's all about ME!

Was PC this arrogant and idiotic when Mike Williams left early?

Nice way to show support petey for Mark. Did you really have to say that. You should have just given him praise and support and be done with it but no, you had to rifle off those remarks. If I was Mark's dad I would have been all over petey. Mark's dad needs to man up!

To Mike: The reason so many gutless little bruins spew puke in the USC blog is because sucla fans have no football to talk about in their blog. They come over here trying to stir up trouble, then bark like little puppies when a USC fan posts a comment in their forum. Typical two-faced UCLA fans who gloat over a 4-point win against a crosstown rival that played without its best post player for 14 minutes in the first half last weekend. If Gibson had played the entire first half, no doubt the gutless little pukes would be making excuses for their team and calling the Trojans lucky. These are the same guys and gals who ran Karl Dorrell out of town, then exchange high-fives after a 4-8 season under New Weasel. They have sipped the UCLA Kool-Aid and have lost all thought function. Have you seen the movie "Invasion"? I think of UCLA fans every time I watch it - UCLA fans whose minds have been taken over by some alien force. Maybe they can come criticize USC's highly successful football program and history once they finally win a Pac-10 football championship, not to mention a National Title or two in football. Until then, stay home and drink the Kool-Aid your mommies gave you.

Mark had an up and down season at best and in general did not make too many mistakes. The defense was the star of most games, not a high-powered QB-led offense.

The Coaching staff spends weeks developing a gameplan to answer the critics that say the USC offense is moribund. The offense and Sanchez explode in the Rose Bowl and the team looks OK next season if the offense comes back. Instead of buiding on this success for the team, Mark uses the Rose Bowl as an infomercial for his NFL draft stock. USC easily could have beat Penn State running the ball and using short passes. But the coaches unleash the aerial attack and Sanchez to his credit played the game of his life. You can totaly see Pete's POV of being angry.

I never took any Journalism classes, so I don't really know what people in that industry consider good writing. As a person who likes feel like he got some kind of information out of an article in a news paper, I thought that article was a huge waste of time.

Besides the failed "blitz" metaphor that took up a quarter of the text, the writer offered no new information on the subject. The article could have read as follows:

"Despite advice from friends and family and overwhelming evidence on why not to turn pro, Sanchez' desire to play professional football was too overwhelming not leave school with another year of eligibility. Carroll publicly disagreed with Sanchez' decision but offered his services in helping Mark realize his dream."

Even that would ne too much. No wonder print journalism is dying. No one seems to want to write real news anymore.

AMEN thetaxiAN971...The so called journalist today, uses "freedom of the press" as a license to MAKE news instead of REPORTING news. A dying breed for sure. I always wondered why Wolf didn't advise that HS journalism student who continually badgers him for advice in his chatroom,to find a different endeavor.

Why would anything Pete Carroll said influence whether a team would select Mark Sanchez? He didn't say anything about his abilities. He didn't badmouth his play. He just talked about how tough and risky it is for a kid to come out before he gets the most experience he can get.

Ask Fred Matua, Darnell Bing and Mike Williams whether that was good advice.
