Just Like Football
Uh, not quite. USC's loss to Oregon State today is different because it is debatable who really cares? As I explained two weeks ago, this is not Chapel Hill, N.C., or Lawrence, Kan., or Westwood. If it were, there would be accountability.
So the indignation will be reserved to a few die-hards and that's about it. Frankly, more people are interested in whether Randall Carroll comes to USC.

Funny comment on USC caring more about Randal Carroll. The one thing I've always noticed and always get agreement on from Trojans is that UCLA cares more about Football than USC cares about Basketball.
In English, please.
The United States cares more about football than basketball...
Dear Mike Garrett,
We need Tony Bennett and we need him now.
It was absolutely embarrassing and Floyd deserves to be fired! All they had to do was defend the perimeter or foul to prevent the three at the end of regulation; but no one was within 10 feet of the shooter, and the guy was having a career night! Hackett is a turnover machine and he and Gibson seem to be regressing, and DeRozan isn't living up to his billing; and let's not get started with the Lil' Romeo affair. This debacle is 100% on Floyd and we need change.
PS. UGLA can have Randall Carroll.
I like Locoweed....he actually cares about USC Basketball.
i don't think any SC fb fan cares about R Carroll now.
This is my first time on this blog, so I will be respectful but not shy.
I agree with the comment that "UCLA cares more about Football than USC cares about Basketball." If you look at the Brian's blog and BruinsNation, etc., there is much more UCLA enthusiasm and fervor for football than I see for basketball on the SC blogs. In the end, we want to be play at a high level all-around and have succeeded for the most part, with the recent exception of football (but that is turning around).
Second, in terms of the comment that the "United States cares more about football than basketball," I'll beg to differ, particularly at the college level. The NCAA basketball tournament generates much more sustained enthusiasm than the bowl system and makes for a much more legitimate system for crowning a national champion.
In any case, I was surprised by the OSU victory.
So what if the ruins care about football, they still suck!
trojanjay...
Assuming you've been a fan for USC your whole life (like the rest of the non-alumni bandwagon USC fans), do you remember when Paul Hackett was your coach and USC sucked with a half empty Coliseum and the Bruins rolled up 8 straight wins on your team? Yeah...that's what I thought.
Bailey,
I think trojanjay was just being lyrical, as in: U - C - L - A SUCKS! That's all.
BTW, I like you too.
