Morton's Expanded Role

| | Comments (1) |

Pete Carroll said John Morton will be ``the face of the offense,'' handling coaches' meetings, leading conversations with the team, dealing with the media, etc. The main reason is because Carl Smith, 60, no longer needs or seeks those duties. Another could be a lack of charisma.
Morton apparently will do everything except call plays. Carroll likened it to when Lane Kiffin and Steve Sarkisian worked together on everything in 2005-06. However one slight difference: Kiffin did call plays.

Carroll is likening Morton to Sark in this instance, not Kiffin.
