No Evaluation
Taylor Mays said he never received his NFL evaluation. But he did say last week's BCS title game influenced his decision.
``I was going back and forth and then I watched the Florida-Oklahoma game and I got upset a little,'' Mays said. ``It frustrated me.''
A little later tonight I'll have something on a new role for him.

New role, as in ....Mr. Lauren Conrad!
New role...linebacker? The next Brian Urlacher?
My guess would be team captain.
No doubt he'll be captain but I'm thinking maybe a move to the Elephant role. Clay Matthews showed what kind of impact that position can have on a defense this past season. And Taylor Mays looks to be an even better fit there. However, I don't think you mess with an All-American, who is going to be a safety at the next level and cares enough to come back for his senior year despite being a projected single digit pick. It would be a very selfish move to change his position. Also, I think he was a huge reason for our stingy pass defense this season. Having him at free safety, regardless of how few interceptions he had, cuts the room to work with in half for the offense because they will only dare to throw to his side a couple times a game.

I like this elephant idea. We'll have an incredible starting two at CB, Shareece Wright/Kevin Thomas. Pinkard is back. Will Harris played great in place of Ellison. So, why not use Pinkard and Harris at safety and try Mays at elephant. The extra experience can only improve is draft stock, I think. Did you know that Maycock at NFL.com has Clay Matthews as the #17 TOP SENIOR for the draft. Elephant is a high profile position.
Of course, we'll probably have an injury or two that change the plans, but I'm all for putting Mays closer to the line. Pinkard has excellent speed to cover the deep balls.
love Taylor's attitude to be thinking of a NC while that phony, selfish and stupid QB is just looking out for his ego and wallet to be be filled.
retarded comment. so if you do an amazing work at your job you would turn away a HUGE pay increase? quit being a hypocrite. have a warm cup of stfu
