On Gerrity

Here's some comments from new point guard Mike Gerrity.

``I started showing interest about two or three weeks ago (while at
UNCC). I played in three exhibitions (with UNCC) in Canada. It was over
Labor Day, so it was two months before the season even started. Style-wise I just didn't feel it was the best fit.''

(On his career): ``The first situation I really didn't have anything to do with it. They brought in a new coach who didn't recruit me, which put me in a difficult position. In my last spot, it was contrasting styles that I just didn't feel would be best for my future. I'd
rather not go into detail about it, just say it was a style thing.
``I like to push it, I like to get other people involved, make my teammates better. (So you're a pure point guard?) Yeah, I would definitely say that.''

Gerrity said Henry Bibby ``did recruit me at one point and Coach Floyd showed some
interest in me as well.''

Gerrity on USC: ``The team competes, I see that in the games I've watched.''
