On Sanchez
NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock, who is at the Senior Bowl this week, said today, ``I'm not sure we have a top 10 quarterback in this draft.''
Asked where Mark Sanchez would get drafted, Mayock said: ``I think for Sanchez and (Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford), they're a little bit of a project. I don't know where he's going to go. Teams are going to look at, if they draft a quarterback, do you want him to play immediately? I don't think Sanchez or Stafford play immediately. If i need a quarterback immediately, I'm not sure I take them in the top 10. I don't think they are top 10 picks because I don't think they are ready to play immediately.
``What I remind people is that (Ravens QB) Joe Flacco and (Falcons QB) Matt Ryan were fifth-year seniors.''

Maybe Carroll knew what he was talking about?
Trojan Conquest, of course everything Carroll said at the press conference was right, and just like any debator he cited the information/facts that supported his case. It was what he didn't say - like whether or not Mark specifically was ready for the NFL that he didn't present.
The more time that has passed since the presser, the more convinced I am that PC had some very selfish reasons to get Mark to come back. And yes, his behavior was rather borish at the press conference. After all, he had four years of development invested in this young man and he knew in the fifth year he would probably reap some really great benefits. Including possibly the winning of a second BCS Trophy.
Was Pete being a little selfish? Hell yes! And I am behind Pete 100%.
Fight On Pete Carroll!
The proof will be in the draft position. If Sanchez gets picked in the top 10 it will make Pete look pretty foolish. If Sanchez gets picked in the second round it makes Pete look good. Anywhere in between and it's a toss-up. And I don't have a problem with Carroll pushing to have Sanchez come back. The press conference just wasn't the time or place.
Maybe Carroll knew what he was talking about, amen!
