I have to admit, they're not actually all that bad. They look pretty, thin and mostly tall. So if there are five returning girls, the new squad has 11 members, which is still more than I would have preferred but certainly a huge improvement over some of the jumbo size squads of the past few years.

I definitely see major progress here. The people's voice has been heard!

Looks promising...maybe they can move up in the rankings to #8 in the Pac-10.

The two in the middle I can do without, but the other four are in a much higher league than most of the song girls from this decade. We may have the most number of attractive song girls in 2009 than we've had since the 1990s. Now couldn't the selection committee have done this throughout the decade rather than wait until 2009 to bring the squad back to respectability?

By the way, I love how the girls are carrying Louis Vuitton bags in the picture. It's so very USC.

Well, this is certainly a very pleasant surprise. I was not expecting a product this good ever again from the Song Girls. Four of those six girls are worthy of the white sweater. And that's a much higher number than we've had in a decade.

Anyway, the three tall blondes are pretty good and so is the brunette second from the left. A big improvement over the squads of the 2000s.

I must be in the minority here, but from that photo none live up to the standards of the 80's. Maybe it's a bad photos, but at least it appears that these girls don't have that excessive hip hop butts that plagued some of the girls from last season.

Definite improvement, but still no Oregon or UCLA. I guess we could take baby steps. Still no Glory Days material, but that would probably be too much to ask for and any change is a good improvement from last year's disaster.

I have to say, though, that the Song Girls in general don't have that wholesome look that Oregon has perfected. The Song Girls have become too Real Housewives of Orange County, but "The Younger Version". They just look old and overdone. But that's just me.

Ok, the picture is not high quality, but with some apprehension, I must admit that I see IMPROVEMENT!!! I look forward to a better pic, but perhaps the SGSC has heard our voice. Power to the people, or, errr, uhh, the alums who pay your salaries with donations. Let's see more 2009 SGs!

She's the perfect Song Girl and well above most of the garbage we've had in the 2000s.

I hate to dignify the comments made on this blog by joining in but here goes. Did you ever think that these girls have feelings. They auditioned and were selected to be part of a great Trojan Tradition. They sincerely didnt become song girls thinking that people would be judging them off of one candided photograph. These girls work hard to perform at the games and represent the usc spirit. They also do philantropic work as well like swim with mike. I would hope that Scott Wolf who supposedly works for the university would consider that if he ever has had a female he cared about would take down this picture and these comments. These girls are someones daughter, sister,and friend.Would Scott be ok with people saying these things about people he cares about. These girls havent done anything to be worthy of these hurtful comments. PLEASE think as you comment words hurt. I was speaking to one of them this evening who was sobbing because of the comments.
