Since Nick Holt is out, isn't this the perfect chance to hire a full-time special teams coach?

They have special teams at USC ?

first we need a new DC.

Losing 2 coordinators is not good for recruiting. Pete's whole theory of growing together is really backfiring

Why not hire the one that UCLA just fired?

It won't matter whom they bring in as DC or Special Teams coach for next season. We'll still kick the snot out of Notre Dame and UCLA just like always.

UCLA would be better off to disband its football program and use the funds to clean up the unholy mess at the UCLA Medical Center. Or give it to Howland to buy a few more All-Americans for the basketball team. With Walker leaving, UCLA's best asset is gone, and many of the recruits who chose UCLA because of Walker are going to be gone, too, defecting to other schools.

Meantime, Pete Carroll has another Top 5 recruiting class and showed that the Trojans still own the Rose Bowl. Like others, you can't help but wonder why Nick Holt would leave USC for the confines of Washington, where next season the Huskies will be battling the Bruins for last place again in the Pac-10 Conference.

Old School,
I guess you forgot about all of the money that $c pays out to recruits and their families. Look in your own backyard before you bark about somebody else. Even your own newspaper the slimes is reporting that you guys aren't squeaky clean, lol.

When did Pete officially adopt a theory of "growing together". Are we just making up new theories for Pete now?
Pete's theory on coaches leaving has always been that he would never stand in their way. It makes the program look better the more guys that leave and go on to better jobs. I think Pete's probably still more worried about replacing Reggie Bush than he ever has been about losing any coaches.

Tyler-those are exactly Pete's words when talking about hiring of Kiffin and Sark.

Guess you're a newbie to SC football

Tyler's been here since the beginning, actually.

I'll go along with Sark being missed by recruits (and maybe more importantly, their coaches) - because of the unknown of who will calls plays - but having Holt go doesn't change things any more than it did last time. Hebron Fangupo, who likes him, is going to sign with USC regardless.
