Sanchez's Side
With all the drama from yesterday, I never got around to offering a little insight into Mark Sanchez's decision. What stunned people is that he always played the role of the rah-rah guy who loved USC and would never criticize a teammate or coach or say anything bad about USC.
That made people assume he would stay in college as long as possible. But it overshadowed an extremely serious side to Sanchez that wanted to be an NFL quarterback more than anything else. He didn't want to be the poster boy for USC and King of L.A. He wanted to play pro football. That made his decision easy.

SW you're a vindictive idiot. Are you an USC poster boy showing SG's all the time? It sounds to me you are a Viagra poster jerk more than anything else. Should I add hypocritical moron? Now that Mark is gone you are talking trash. Mark will give a pass since you are a 50 yo clown. Go ahead and restart your MM and Me BS book...
The Donkey just read some great insight on Sanchez by Wolf.
The Donkey wonders if this "insight" is simple conjecture from Scott that posted after the fact makes him read as a real journalist.
The Donkey challenges wolf to provide real insight into the team BEFORE THE FACT, NOT AFTER THE FACT. The Donkey would like this more as opposed to the drivel about soft serve ice cream machines and song girls.
Scott: Dont be a two face *ick. You yourself commmented on how you did NOT belive Sanchez would turn pro. Stop being a bigger A*shole. You did not believe he would turn pro. Now you are going to burn him? Turn the attention onto youself and say you misread the situation, DICKK. Then we will have more appreciation for your work.
This doesn't knock Sanchez at all; Scott is emphasizing Sanchez's focus on being a professional. If anything he is commenting on Leinart's desire to keep the party going on, and contrasting that with Sanchez's desire to be a true professional. If you guys remember at all, as "true" SC fans, Leinart was on the cover of the Sporting News as the "King of LA".
Stop being so dense.
The Donkey says Gekko is being dense.
Scott is posting after the fact an insight into Sanchez state of mind. The Donkey believes that if Scott had this insight, he would have written about it, and perhaps indicate a belief that Mark would go pro based on his "serious side."
The Donkey can conjecture that most of the football team "seriously" want to be play pro football.
Why don't you ask Wolf the reason why he chose the specific language of "poster boy for USC" or "King of LA". I can almost guarantee it is a backhanded reference to Leinart, who he constantly criticizes.
And I don't think Leinart is taking pro football all that seriously, as can be seen in his first few years in the league.
I agree with the Donkey. If Scott was such a good journalist, we would've heard this insight before Sanchez announced he was turning pro. Any slapdick can post it afterward.
Wolf can only redeem himself by reposting the original donkey posting from this Summer?
Holy crap! For the first time since ever I find myself agreeing with 100% of what my compadre El Capitán is saying. Welcome back Señor!
"played the role of the rah-rah guy who loved USC..."
Are you insinuating that he was acting?
Compared to Leinart, Sanchez hasn't accomplished squat at USC. Leinart will endure as a legend at USC . . . Sanchez will soon be an afterthought.
The Donkey agrees with jdusc's comment. The Donkey thinks Mark left his USC legacy in the "what could have been" realm, and might eventually be forgotten in a decade. The Donkey thinks that might be for another thread.
This thread is about a reporter claiming to have "insight" to the situation by reporting after the fact.
Reasons Sanchez left:
1) dream to be an NFL QB
2) dislocated knee has high likelihood of recurrence
3) great draft for QBs with limited pool, lots of NFL needs, only 2 QB studs
4) QB coach leaves, new coach still TBD
5) hot prospect after best game ever Rose Bowl
6) graduates this year
7) guaranteed lifetime of financial security
I agree with Mark's decision.
Well said Señor and welcome back. DFWTrojan you took the words right out of my mouth. Reason number #8 "WNTF should he stay around to lose another a game or two because SC gets OUT COACHED". And Locoweed looks like you finally got hold of some good schisky. Señor has always been on point and now his point has been proven and is moving on, yet there still seems to be some punk SSV comments about MS decision. Please somebody give one Fn lucid reason he should stay if he will be drafted in rounds one or two. And before you do remember that USC has been suppling the NFL with QBs for the last 10 years and even RoboQB got paid.
