Second Thoughts?
As recently as the UCLA game, we wondered why Pete Carroll left Mark Sanchez in the game until the final two minutes with a 28-7 lead. Doesn't that become an even bigger question now that Aaron Corp could have gotten some valuable playing time?
Whether it's Corp or Mitch Mustain, they easily could have gotten more playing time this season and didn't.

Yeah, mop up duty really prepares you.
I was always hoping the backups would get more time but believe that Pete Carroll couldn't afford any mistakes in order to keep National Championship hopes (or at least arguments) alive for the team.
From what I remember when Mustain was in, he had some shaky moments just taking a snap and handing the ball off. He also threw two interceptions in only sixteen pass attempts.
Yeah, and what about all those plays that were called during the season that didn't work??!! I wonder if Pete wishes he'd done something differently?? I think you're on to something, Scott. Pete isn't really such a good coach when you pull back the covers.
Scot,
Pete being the 'control freak' that he is; does he micro-manage his assistant coaches and second guess
their decisions to the point they become angry, if so, is this why many have jumped ship (pursued other opportunities)? and, his being in total control, can this be an impediment in hiring other top notch coaches?
And the Washington State game?
Scott, handing the ball off is not quality minutes.
I believe they have all the hand off practice they need.
As for Mr. T4's comment that the assistants have "jumped ship" because they were angry at Carroll, look at the jobs they have jumped to: Kiffen - NFL head coach, Sark - Pac-10 head coach, Orgeron -SEC head coach, Chow - NFL offensive coord, Holt - Head Coach, etc. That isn't jumping ship, that is career advancement, which Carroll doesn't seem to stand in the way of. If you think a coach being a control freak, look at the consistent winners, Meyer, Miles, Stoops, Sabin, Tressel, et al, and tell me that they're all warm and fuzzy.
Scott, c'mon, this seems pointless. For all Pete knew Mark would follow Matt and John David and come back for his senior year, so that playing time was actually MORE valuable for him as the team built to the next year.
Scott: Have you got any eligibility left? 'Cuz if you do, maybe YOU could be the next USC quarterback.
As long as they reschedule all the game to be played on Monday mornings...you'd be the perfect choice.
Failing that, maybe you'd like to be next Head Coach? You certainly seem to believe that you would to a better job than the living legend that currently occupies the position.
Here's my question? Who the hell is "WE"? All your posts begin with the statement that more than one of you believes/knows something. You and who else = we?
Maybe PC was upset at Sanchez' decision because he is not comfortable with either Corp or Mustain. I never sensed Mark ever receive a total vote of confidence from the coaching staff...when he was named the starter it wasn't "he makes good reads & decisions, has total command of the offense, etc..." but rather "He's been in the system longer than the other guys". Could it be the hope was when Mark left in 2010 Matt Barkley would be ready to go?
T4-Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
