The Oregon cheerleaders are the biggest rock stars of the Pac-10. Does that make the USC Song Girls the well past their prime traveling oldies group with no original members remaining, only cheaper replacement members, that is living off its past glory and hits?

The leadership of the Song Girls is clearly obsessed these days with the squad always being referred to with the slogan "The World Famous USC Song Girls" despite the fact they are not actually world famous with the exception of the coach's daughter who gained global fame for her complete obsession with all things Texas. So it appears they want as much publicity as they can get no matter the reason or source. Do you think the fact Keli Snyder did not get caught up in any national internet photograph scandal this past year like so many other Song Girls of the 2000s, thus failing to provide any major publicity, was the reason she was cut from the squad?

Amanda Pflugrad was born in 1987. The previous year, Boston scored a No. 1 hit single with their song "Amanda." Do you sense a connection?

USC Song Girls 2000-2009 - notorious or infamous?

I am asking this question with complete seriousness and not as a joke or in a snide tone. Is the reason the USC Song Girls have not had any requirements in regards to squad members having to comply to a certain weight or thin body image, unlike the UCLA Dance Team and Oregon cheerleaders who state these requirements clearly on their websites, due to issues relating not only to political correctness but also in order to prevent lawsuits regarding body image?

By not requiring the Song Girls to be thin and toned this decade, has the reason been due to a notion of all-inclusiveness rather than physical discrimination? If this actually does happen to be the case, how come UCLA and Oregon so blatantly state that their cheerleaders "must be physically fit and be proportioned height to weight"? (direct quote from the Oregon cheerleading website) Would that not be considered discrimination on the part of other universities? If it is not considered legally discriminating, how come USC does not have the same requirements regarding the Song Girls?

On her Q&A for Sports Illustrated's Cheerleader of the Week, Amanda Pflugrad lists one of her talents as being able to "chew a whole pack of gum in an hour." Is this not definitive proof Amanda is a renaissance woman?

The 2009 LA Laker Girls are clearly a far cry from their amazing and groundbreaking predecessors who set the standard for what professional cheerleaders could be. The USC Song Girls 2000-2009 have also been far below what we long expected from the one-time gold standard of collegiate cheerleading. So here's a tough question -- the 2009 LA Laker Girls versus any of the USC Song Girls post-1999?

Any new and recent actions by the athletic department taken against you to censor readers' anger and frustration over the exposed cronyism and nepotism that plagues the Song Girl program?

Have they given up on their denial over the exposed corruption that has taken over the squad this decade?

It seems that many readers feel the new squad is a slight improvement (although I believe we are still light years away from the Glory Days era) which can be seen as an appeasement to the many disillusioned followers of the Song Girls.

I'm just wondering if they would actually admit that there was an effort to select more worthy girls, as it seems apparent that they did try this year to improve the squad.

Although to be perfectly honest, anything is an improvement once you hit rock bottom. This decade has been a complete disaster for the Song Girls.

During this period of so-called "national unity," is it not unfair to marginalize and categorize Amanda Pflugrad merely as an "Oregon cheerleader"? Should she not be referred to as "America's cheerleader"?

The 2009 song girls have taken some all-squad pictures so should we assume the girls on the far left and far right of the pictures are the most likely candidates who will fail to make it all the way until the fall and will be airbrushed out?

When the Stanford Dollies all dance out of sync, it's deliberate and part of an inside joke. So how do the USC Song Girls justify every girl dancing out of sync? I get the sense in their case they're not trying to be funny.

Is the very lovely and extremely effervescent Amanda Pflugrad the antithesis of every USC Song Girl from this decade?

Many observers have commented over the fact that there has been a significantly low percentage of attractive Song Girls over the course of this decade and that has been one of the many issues Trojans have had with the university's "ambassadors of goodwill." When there have actually been one or two pretty girls on a specific squad, they have stood out among the pack and these young ladies have been praised by observers for their physical beauty, which has been quite a rare commodity these past few years. So was Keli Snyder cut from the squad so she would not stick out as one of the few very pretty girls, hence all the Song Girls would be on an even playing field rather than having one or two stand out over the others?

To promote sales of the Pac-10 Tournament at the Staples Center, has the conference office in Walnut Creek considered running ads featuring pictures of the Oregon cheerleaders and making it clear to consumers they will be in attendance?
