I like you Wolf but USC at 4 is a joke. You're definitely overdoing your schtick
Texas at #3??? What the hell are you thinking?
I'm surprised he ranked SC over Oklahoma...and where's LSU?
USC deserves to be # 3
When you come down to Utah SC it could be a tossup. In that case why not go with the home team? But Texas barely beat Ohio St. and we killed the #1 team in that conference along with Ohio St. Is it that hard to figure out?
Wolf,
Look at yourself, the desperate taunting, the mindless SEC/Big 12 worship, the drippy drooling over teenage cheerleaders; all of these should tell you it's time to move on.
It's no wonder Dohn has overtaken you.
You're in a rut, go do some real reporting, or go work in London if you love soccer so much. Move out of your Mom's and do something with your life.
Next thing you're gonna say is West Brom is going to avoid the drop? WTF! Were you watching the same games as the rest of us? I think you have cheerleaderitis go take a cold shower and clear your head.
What the What? I understand Utah and Florida at 1 & 2, but Texas at #3? All year Wolf praised the Big 12 South. Well I think the Bowls helped expose that it was overrated.
Texas beat the number 5,9,16,and 19th ranked teams.
USC beat the number 8,9,10 ranked teams along with #25 in the coaches poll.
Texas lost to the #12 team.
USC lost to the #18 team.
But the bottom line is how they finished.
USC crushed the number #1 team from the Big 10.
Texas barely beat the #2 team from the Big 10 who SC crushed earlier in the year.
I can't believe Scott thinks Texas is a better or more deserving team than the Trojans.
I'm sure if Texas Tech had beaten Mississippi he would have ranked them ahead of the Trojans.
Texas and Utah would beat us ??
Having Texas that high and Ohio State so low makes no sense
You really have too much of an agenda to be a voter; your presence on the AP is, by itself, a clear reason why the BCS system is such a fraud.
Now we know why Emmanuel Moody transferred to Florida, he wanted to play for a REAL national champion!!
Not a voted on CHUMPION like you all are.
SEC rules!!
Give my regards to keith rivers' jaw
Looks about right.
I personally agree with having Texas ahead of USC, in a close call. All year long I feel that Texas was a better team. I don't care that they "barely" beat Ohio State. We played them early in the year; things have changed since then.
just4sc: no, Utah maybe wouldn't beat us. But come on, they're the only undefeated team in the nation, and beat Alabama, who is pretty damn good (overrated, maybe). But you can't say that it's too absurd to put them higher.
Hines,
Congrats on the Florida win. They were definitely the better team last night, but it seems a bit like a hollow victory, since it was against Oklahoma. I'm surprised that they were able to stay that close until late 4Q.
Tebow seems like a real class act, and although I don't like Florida, I had a real tough time not pulling for the guy.
And congrats to Emmanuel Moody as well. Even though his only involvement in the game was a one-yard loss on the opening drive, he must have enjoyed the game too. Begs the question though - would you prefer riding the bench with the #1 team or potentially getting ample playing time with the #3 team?
Question for you though - why would you be popping up on another school's blog that didn't even play last night to gloat? Seems like there would be better ways to celebrate a win. To each his own I guess.
Fight On!
cmmn Scott, USC 4th is really a joke. If you heard ESPN Analyst's (Mark May\Lou Holtz)last night they said that the best team in the country was USC. I think you just want to stir controversy in this blog but i think you know deep down that USC would beat Texas this year without a doubt. Texas looked horrible and barely survived against Ohio State.

playtothebeat.....Two questions?
How do you think SC would have done against Ohio State if they played them in the Fiesta Bowl?
I agree with the time line of playing Ohio State being hard to gauge the teams, but shouldn't the last game for both teams mean something? SC crushed the #1 team from the Big 10 and Texas barely got by the #2 team from the Big 10.
Well this will certainly be open forum fodder until spring practice. You really thought outside the box and then fumbled the USC Texas ordering! Sark would keep you out the rest of the game for bad body language if he were still around.
VT beats Cinci handily in the Orange Bowl but ranks two spots below them. In this world, I see exactly how SC ends up at 4.
Trojan Conquest:
We would have beaten them again, yes.
However, you and I know that just because Team A beats team B, and Team C beats Team B by a smaller margin, Team A beats Team B... You know that's simply not true.
I truly believe that Texas would have been a TOUGH game for us. As would have been Oklahoma or Florida.
The bottom line is, we'll never know. But I'm OK with the final polls. I don't think we deserve to be in the #1 spot in the polls, even though we might be considered one of the best teams in the nation. Florida is there, and rightfully so. Texas and USC - well, I think that's a close call, but either way works for me.
Fight on!
By the way, pretty interesting to see Scott rank Oreon State so highly! They finished 18th in the final polls, so looks like he thinks their win over USC (and Pitt) meant something after all!
playtothebeat...I agree with the stupid BCS system that SC probably didn't deserve to be #1. I do however think they are probably the best team again at the end of the year. This is why I would have them 3rd over Texas. The last game results far outweigh other things. Both playing Big 10 teams, the big SC victory over the #1 Big Ten teaj compared to Texas barely beating the #2 team. Hey, the good news is that more voters agreed with me than you or Wolf :). Also I think this is 7 years in a row that SC finished in the top 4!
It is too bad that two SEC teams now have two BCS championships compared to USC's one. It would be nice to get one more before the decade is over to solidify SC's position as the number one team of the decade.
Here is how all 65 AP voters voted

Hey Scott,
Take some comfort that there's an AP sportswriter that knows less about college football than you. Some idiot named Jim Mashek of the Sun Herald in Mississippi voted USC fifth.
There is madness all around us,,,,as Col. Kurtz said, "the horror"...........
Trojan_SF:
I'm sick of watching the ESPN honks (herbstreit and corso) go on and on about how USC is the best team in the country.
Shut up already.
Florida won. SEC SEC SEC SEC SEC
Hines,
Come out and play us. We'll come out and play any SEC team anywhere, anytime...
Florida couldn't beat Utah, let alone SC....
Hines Ward........Winning the BCS doesn't mean you are the best team in the Nation at the end of the year. If the NFL had the BCS, New England would have been the champs last year.
Hines,
Again, congratulations on the win. But, if Florida is the best team in the country, why are Florida fans being defensive about it? Seems rather insecure to be upset that Corso, Herbstreit, May and Holtz think otherwise.
Anyways, congrats again, but why are you gloating to SC fans that don't really care about Florida football?
Fight On!
SW, you could have at least compared Texas and USC vs "like opponnent" Ohio St before voting how you did. I also have a strong feeling that if your life was bet on it, you'd pick USC over Texas, just as the odds makers did and would.
So lemme see if I have this right.
Sagarin schedule strength: USC #16; Utah #56.
The argument for keeping 'SC out of the BCS championship game was that they played a weak schedule.
But now, we're supposed to believe that Utah, with a schedule ranked forty places lower at #56 (!), is worthy of the championship denied to USC.
As usual, Wolfie = retard.
@spedjones:
Only in Scott Wolf land could VaTech beat Cincinnati and still end up ranked lower than them.
Seriously, Scott, what the hell?
P.S.
Tulsa crushes Ball State (crushes them) and they are ranked 24 and 25? Brilliant.
Hines, the way you write it sounds like you just had your what? 5th birthday? Good luck in elementary school.
