Touching Moment

Linebacker Rey Maualuga had his own encounter with Erin Andrews at the Rose Bowl.
I'm guessing this clip is not what Pete Carroll referred to when he talked about Maualuga maturing over the years.

Wolfie, for you to write about somebody fawning over the beauty of a girl is probably the most hypocritical thing I've ever heard.

Rey is a 21 year old and Erin Andrews is probably 35.

You are, what, 50, and you spent the entire season focusing on 19 and 20 year old cheerleaders.

What's worse? Let the public decide.

Brent:

You are an idiot. Maualuga is a classless punk who goes behind a media professional who was doing her job and simulates his penis going in and out of her backside. When she notices what he's doing, she immediately moves away in disgust. Under the law, what he did could even be considered sexual harassment, especially considering there is irrefutable video evidence.

Maualuga is a disgrace and nothing more than an animal.

Bernard said it as well as anyone can. Maualuga is just a sick thug with no class.

Rey Maualuga = worthless pile of crap

I'm not going to call out anyone's names but of two of the three posters above:

1. One's family is from a small town where the music of Elvis Presley is still banned for being the "devil's music."
2. Another took a trip to Washington D.C. and upon return, started a letter writing campaign to have the Washington Monument removed due to the obscenity of it's sexually suggestive nature.

For anyone who has been on campus these past few years, they would know this is just scratching the surface of how this football player usually behaves towards girls.

To "Sam Gilbert":

Would you like it if Maualuga went behind your mother, wife or sister and did that same thing? Would you defend that action?

Brent Author Profile Page said:

That is not what he did at all. He did a little dance behind her, but he did not simulate himself having sex with her. You're seeing something that is not there.

BoscoH Author Profile Page said:

Oh geez, he's being a clown. You'd see worse at recess at your local elementary school. Brent is spot on.

If there's any offense here, it's of some imaginary fourth wall of the sideline reporter, and that's up to her and her handlers, not players coming into the tunnel.

Bailey Author Profile Page said:

If his parents raised him with any sort of class, they would have taught him to introduce himself to Erin Andrews and not dance behind her like a coward. For someone that can deal some serious blows on the field you'd like to think that he'd be a man off the field too.

Apple prob doesn't fall far from the tree.
(SC linebacker Rey Maualuga was arrested for allegedly punching a man at a party off campus, a policeman said. Maualuga, an 18 yr old freshman coming off the best game of his career for the top ranked Trojans, was arrested 4 a.m. Last week after the altercation 3 hours earlier, said police spokesman Kevin Maiberger. Maualuga had left the scene, but later turned himself in & was arrested for misdemeanor battery. Maualuga was released a few hours later on his own recognizance.)

I completely agree with Brent and BoscoH. And, I probably see far worse walking in and out of my church each Sunday AM.

Rey is a kid in his early 20s having fun, and did absolutely nothing wrong. I really can't believe people are impugning his character over a silly little dance behind Erin Andrews, of which she was unaware.

And FWIW, my girlfriend's reaction to this video was that "the football guy" was just being funny, and she bet the reporter was laughing about it afterwards. She found absolutely nothing offensive about it.

And to Brent's point, Scott Wolf freakishly posts pictures of girls 20+ years younger than he, and then snidely refers to Maualuga's "lack of maturity." Unwittingly, Scott made himself the butt of his own joke.

As for Maualuga's dance, well that was out of line. No matter how he intended it to look it came off as the wrong image for the program. But I wish people would stop bringing up the fight he got into three years ago. His dad was terminally sick at the time. You ever go through that? I did. Really hard to experience. You think he might have had a little bit of built-up anger at the time. Try going through that and see if you snap. He was 18 years old and got into a fight at college, yeah that NEVER happens right?

All I got to say is that a few people need to get out of their perfect little suburb lives, and visit urban areas. He is just a young kid having fun. Oh, and for those who don't know, what he was doing is called dancing. I agree with Brent, BoscoH and vegastrojan. Also, if you watch the video, Erin is laughing as she walks away. Obviously she knew he was just having fun.

1) Erin is NOT smiling. She looks quite angry and tries to move away from him as soon as she realizes what he is doing.

2) Who cares if his father was ill? That means someone is allowed to attack a person with physical violence?

Maualuga is nothing more than an animal without a trace of class. He's been in jail in the past and there's a very good chance he'll end up back there again at some point in the future.

give me a break! if you were the starting MLB at SC you would have a little fun in your last game. how come MAUALUGA is an a%$hole now but all year people have cheered him on and unwavered in the support for him. all of you losers were probably on the SC bandwagon all year. look what's he's been thru. if any of you haters had your dad die when you just left for college you would return home. but what did he do? he endured and worked hard to be the man of his family in LA.
give me a break all of you would break trade it all in just to be able to suit up in the Rose Bowl. with all the money the kids on the team make for the university they should be able to do as they wish.

REY-REY god bless and you're making your DAD proud, uso.
