USC V. Golden Gophers
USC will play Minnesota in 2010 and 2011. I'm sure this is not the matchup some of you hoped for. Details after the jump.
LOS ANGELES-USC and Minnesota will play a home-and-home football series in 2010 and 2011, Trojan athletic director Mike Garrett announced today.
The Trojans will play the Golden Gophers in Minneapolis in their new on-campus TCF Bank Stadium on Sept. 18, 2010. Minnesota will visit the Los Angeles Coliseum to face USC on Sept. 3, 2011.
Troy owns a 4-1-1 series record over Minnesota, including wins in the past 3 meetings. The teams last met in 1980 in Minneapolis, a 24-7 Trojan victory. USC's other wins came in 1953 (17-7 at home), 1968 (29-20 in the rain on the road) and 1979 (48-14 at home), while the tie was in 1965 (20-20 at home) and the loss was in 1955 (25-19 in snow on the road). The Trojans were ranked in the AP Top 10 in all 6 of their games against the Gophers, including first in 1979.
Besides its annual meeting with Notre Dame, USC's other non-conference foes through 2011 are Ohio State, Virginia, Syracuse, Hawaii and San Jose State.
USC was 12-1 in 2008 and beat Penn State in the Rose Bowl. The Trojans are riding a streak of 7 consecutive Pac-10 titles, BCS bowl appearances, 11-win seasons and AP Top 4 finishes under coach Pete Carroll.
Minnesota went 7-6 in 2008 under second-year coach Tim Brewster, finishing sixth in the Big Ten and playing in the Insight Bowl (its eight bowl in the past 10 seasons).

I thought you said Big 12 or SEC? Scott is CJ Spiller still coming to SC?
It sure beats UNLV who just announced a home and home with the bruins
