Ute Vote
What started out as a trickle is now a landslide of emails to AP voters to choose Utah as the No. 1 team. I'm getting emails from McLean, Va. to San Clemente. Here's another example.
I hope that you will have noted Utah's defeat against Alabama, and that we are 13-0 which no other team in the nation can prove. As you will see if you are to look up the win/loses of all other teams out of the 119 Divison 1, as all other teams currently have one lose or more in division 1 NCAA football.
You should also note that only Florida and Utah have beat Alabama, but only one of those two teams Is undefeated. So I would hope that you find it in your heart to do justice and Vote utah #1 in the AP poll, of which you are a voter of, As Utah is the only undefeated team, thus only team deserving of the National Championship title or at least a share of the title with the BCS bowl game winner.
Here are some fun stats I have included for you to review.
Utah defeated Alabama with a 31-17 victory.
Utah finished the season 13-0
Utah has its second undefeated season and second BCS win.
Utah became the first team from a non-BCS conference to win two BCS bowls.
Utah has won 8 current bowls, which is FBS longest streak currently.
Utah currently holds that nations longest winning streak.
Utah went 3-0 against BCS ranked teams, Florida is 2-1, Oklahoma is 5-1.
Utah beat 4 ranked teams.
Utah went 1-0 against the Big-Ten
Utah went 1-0 against the SEC, convincingly beating SEC-West Champion Alabama in the Sugar Bowl
Utah went 1-0 against the Pac-10, beating Oregon State who had defeated USC
Utah went 1-0 against the WAC
Utah went 8-0 against the MWC who finished with 3 teams in the top 25 (Utah, TCU and BYU).
This following link shows that 2/3rds of random population agree that Utah deserves a slice
of the national championship title.

Good points, all. Just another reason for a playoff. And a perfect example of why a plus-one wouldn't work. I'd love to see USC play Utah - I think it would be a better game than either the Rose or the Sugar Bowls were.
Glad to see that Utah's ability on the field exceeds their fans' command of English grammar and critical thinking.
BTW, Scott, some news for you. Your "nationwide grassroots campaign"? -- Yeah, not so random and representative of a nationwide outcry as you might imagine.
It may come as a surprise to you to learn that Utah alumni have actually settled in locations as far flung as McLean, VA and San Clemente.
But just in case that doesn't do the trick, have a look at this web site:

Notice anything familiar about that text?
Hope the other AP voters aren't so easily suckered.
The Donkey asks Scott, "Are you happy now scott, you are getting attention from McLean, Va. to San Clemente. What an attention whore you are. And an ugly broad too."
Scott, You are a sucker if you get persuaded to vote the Utes as #1. It would rank way down there with that mythical NC the press voted the Lavelle Edwards led BYU a number of years ago.
I hope you are not hyped into again wasting your final vote.
These are all nice points. They remind me of BYU's undefeated NC when BYU wasn't the nation's best team. I like the "beat Oregon St when OSU beat USC" line. How about, "they edged OSU as time expired, although Penn St destroyed OSU ... so this says nothing about how Utah might fare against USC." I also like the 1-0 vs the Big 10. Who remembers it was a 2 point win over MICHIGAN (*cough, cough*)? Any team that beat Michigan by less than 3 TDs this season should have to forfeit their win. I wonder if Utah would win against both Ohio St and Penn St. Consider this. If Utah were in the Pac 10, would they have won the conference championship this season? Doubt it. They would have dropped 2 or 3 (or 4) along the way in my opinion. It's one thing to squeak out that one win in a focus game, but would they beat USC, Ore, Cal, and Ariz, too? Or, could they be upset by Stanford ... or UCLA? On the other hand, what are the chances that USC would have won the MWC this season? I live in the MW area, and I've seen Utah and most of the others in person. Sorry, but USC would roll that conference. Shoot, Air Force beats Utah half the time, although they lost by 7 this year (*cough* ... AF was weak this year). Even so, I don't think that Utah upset Alabama. Utah is better. Alabama comes from THE most overrated conference in college football.
The most salient point is "Alabama comes from THE most overrated conference in college football." Therefore, UF Gate Mouth Gators struggles to beat the Tide, The Utes opens up one giant can of WHIP SSV on the Tide and goes undefeated.
I am SE Trojan and have to put up with this "Strongest Conference BS" from August through January. Let the Utes share this title, less everyone forgets, especially, if Sooners return west with their tails between their legs, hopoefully not.
Scott please do the right thing. Remember the Utes beat USC in a bowl a few years ago. This team of players that have been shunned by the BCS Conferences deserve some love. Vote the Utah #1.
Flyerz73, you said it all, the defense rests it's case. AND YES, THE sec IS THE MOST OVERRATED CONFERENCE IN THE COUNTRY! Their idea of a OOC game is within 200 miles of home plus they cannot stay up late and watch games that are played west of the Rockies. They live in a very small fishbowl.
I'm sorry, I'm just not buying it.
No disrespect to Utah or the terrific season they put together, but the arguments don't hold water.
The form letter seems to hinge on four points:
1. We went undefeated.
2. Our schedule was a lot harder than people think and you should ignore the conference we're in.
3. We beat teams that beat other teams so therefore we're better than them and all their opponents.
4. We're a dynasty and dynasties get rewarded with National Championships.
It's unfortunate that Utah is saddled with the non-BCS conference boat anchor but -- Hello! Pac-10? If we're going to revisit strength of schedule, let's also revisit the Pac-10, shall we?
The argument starts to go off the rails, though, when they start applying the "transitive property of football equality". We beat xxx and they beat yyy so we essentially beat yyy as well.
Here's a thought: USC beat Oregon, Oregon beat Oregon State, and Oregon State beat USC. So doesn't that mean that USC essentially beat USC?
USC beat Penn State which beat Ohio State. USC also beat Ohio State. So did USC beat Ohio State twice?
But for me they run totally into a wall when they start bringing up PAST accomplishments. Wow! This wasn't their very first BCS win? They also had an undefeated season a few years ago? Their winning streak stretches back into last season? How exactly does this impact whether they're the best team in the country THIS year?
They're all nice sound bites and carefully sidestep the points that argue against a split championship, but scratch the surface and the question remains: Other than going undefeated (which, again, is a great accomplishment -- no question about it), do the other arguments really outweigh all the potential counterarguments?
Hey, Utah, we and Texas are throwing a pity party and you're invited too!
Anyone who saw Utah play against Michigan, New Mexico, Air Force, TCU, and yes, even Oregon State, knows they aren't even close to being the best team in the country.
Undefeated? Yes.
The best? Not even close.
Kyle Whittingham is a d-bag. He did not even vote for Oregon State in his Top 25 on the USA Today Final Top 25 ballot.

If the OSU game had not used MWC refs, OSU would have won that game. That was one of the worst officiated games of the year.
Scott - more pics of Erin Andrews and the Oregon cheerleaders without you please.
PS Maybe you can escort the Oregon cheerleaders to Disneyland when the men's basketball team is in LA. They plan a trip each year.
