Scott, did PC and staff ever field a request to give Roby Toma a scholarship, consider giving Toma a scholarship, or evaluate Toma for scholarship at any time prior to, ON, or the day after signing day?
A: To my knowledge, USC never considered giving Toma a scholarship. Now that doesn't mean USC was not asked. But I haven't heard about it if they did. I'm sure USC knew it would help their position if they had.

Other sites that keep up with the trojans have shown videos that indicate how involved sanchez and corp are/were with the team. both of these qbs have been involved in "player's-only practices". the video clips show the qbs throwin to recievers and some of the clips even show defenses and linemen practicing. my question to you is: where is mitch mustain during these practices? it seems to me that he is not as involved as the other qbs. the most recent video (on uscfootball.com) even shows matt barkley practicing but there is no sign of mustain. i just dont see how he can gain the respect of his teammates when he is not showing the leadership necessary to be the man.
A: Several readers have asked this question regarding a possible injury. I'll have a definitive answer later today.

Scott, thank you for the blog and daily updates. What are your thoughts about USC signing Brown and do you really believe USC can control Butler? Thanks.
A: Football is a little different than basketball in that one player cannot control a program. That said, I believe Brown's advisor has been a fixture in Wichita for years and calls coaches with possible recruits. So I think USC (and every school) would have open eyes and make sure there were no problems. Like I said before, in a strange way, it might be better to know beforehand the cast of characters than finding out later (a la Reggie Bush).
