Brown Update

| | Comments (35) |

We hear tailback Bryce Brown will probably visit USC on Feb. 20 to coincide with the visit of wide receiver Orson Charles of Tampa, Fla. Brown, ranked the No. 1 tailback in the nation, committed to Miami but then wanted to consider other schools.
His visit date is not official USC is in the process of getting him to visit on that date.

Brown would be a perfect fit.

Pete could have him picked up in a limo, I mean towncar. Then Reggie Bush could be on the phone with him, or maybe not.

Then Pete could explain the Jarrett plan of having other players parents pay your rent, or the Bush plan of having $50,000+ in illegal benefits from an agent, or the academic plan of no fail classes from Senora Ross.

As Brown's "manager" has already stated he is looking to get paid, he should be a perfect fit for SC.

If Pete doesn't get, do you think he and Kenny will call another press conference to complain about Rick Neu?

Rusty Buckets Author Profile Page said:

Yeah, sure silverlake-bruin, whatever you say. If Pete doesn't get, then they will do that.

Marky Marc Author Profile Page said:

Or we could give him handicap parking. Or let him drunkenly crash his car and abandon his girlfriend inside, yet let him start every game. Or take him on a burglary run with assistant coaches. Or [insert random University of Washington player overlooked transgression here}. Your game is shallow and stupid.

...you forgot old and boring.

Or perhaps Carrol could make a reservation at Monty's. I'm sure Harrick, Lavin, Saia and company would be happy to give him some tips on how to close the deal.

ruined in silverlake is a type of losers who always attribute their incompetence to others. He should feel dumb talking about allegations when his 1st class coach ruined two major college programs violating various rules. I know that he'll be the first one to jump for joy IF Brown would sign with the ruined after talking crap about him, too. But last time I checked the number one RB prospect was NOT interested in the ruined so Kenny won't call press conference.

Bruin football fans are the saddest fans on the planet. I think they're the only fans that define themselves solely through their lop-sided rivalry with SC. They have no identity otherwise.
Michigan would be a great team with or without Ohio St. UF and FSU same. UF and UGA both great legacies.
Now I see why East Coast fans don't respect the rivalry. There is no rivalry. One teams elite and one team's not.

Interesting,

Not a single trOJan can refute the facts about Pete Carroll's corrupt program, but instead refer either to things that happened 10+ years ago at UCLA, and people were actually punished for, or things that happened at other universities.

Cheat on!

Silverlake bruin: How sad.

Rusty Buckets Author Profile Page said:

Under sl-bruin's reasoning, the allegations regarding your precious basketball program must be true because you didn't refute them.

And bruin-Norton's allegations were not baseless. It's pretty sad that your bitterness is so pervasive that you have to attack one of your own in the process.

Please visit your own board where you and all the others who were rejected by Cal can duck each other's sicks about how great it is to make consecutive final fours.

Texas Delenda Est,

Why do you ask for the facts? No other trojans were foolish enought to, knowing they are easy to track down. These are the facts of the corrupt program I referenced:

1) SC illegally sending a limo to pick up a recruit:

http://articles.latimes.com/2007/feb/07/sports/sp-recruiting7

2) McKnight says he spoke to Reggie Bush, then recants when he finds out its a violation:

3)Jarrett recieves illegal rent benefits

4) Bush receives illegal benefits from agent

5)Football players take classes with Senora Ross

If you want, I can also provide links to the following, which I didn't reference:

Wright/Reed ecstacy pill scandal

Hershel Dennis sexual assault scandal
Rey Maualuga arrested for battery
Ting Brothers quit team over steroids
Allegations swirl regarding Brian Cushing’s use of steroids
USC Players form racist Facebook group
USC safety Josh Pinkard was arrested on driving under the influence
USC Linebacker Kulaka Maiava beats up 17 year old girl

Trojans CB Wright charged with felony resisting an officer.

so lets see....petey prolly gonna get him in that limo, stick 20 bucks down his pants for the manager to fish out , give BB 2000 to stay out of the CFL and then tell him that if he doesnt come to usc, he'll send his family to amsterdam with snoop.

Silverlake,

Rumor and innuendo does not a case make. NCAA violations? Punishments handed down for corrupt practices? Let me guess, the NCAA is complicit to keep the ruling party in the Pac-10 in power. It's all a conspiracy to keep the just athletes at UCLA down in the bottom of the NCAA football hierarchy. My suggestion: go back to your own blog and discuss ways to bolster your program. In the meantime, we'll be doing the same over here. Looking forward to next year; perhaps it will be interesting beyond the first quarter but I doubt it.

Wow, someone is keeping a running account of all of SC's problems over the years. That is a little bit obsessive-compulsive, isn't it. It is nice that UGLA fanatics think so highly of SC that they spend that much time thinking about us.

Most Trojans don't spend any time thinking about UGLA.

kptrojan Author Profile Page said:

DAMN, Lawyer John beat me to the punch. You just nailed it. Silverlake, if you are such a FUCLA fan, and FUCLA is so good and so clean, then why oh why are you spending your days at a USC site? Fight On!

Locoweed Author Profile Page said:

kptrojan,

There's a simple explanation, ever since El Presidente announced his predilection for Trojan Football and Pete I King of LA, the ruins can't take their minds off of us. As a leader of great national prominence, King Pete got a personal invitation from the Big Kahuna to party down with him at his inauguration. Where was Slickie? In Hawaii chasing Te'o and Toma at the Big Kahuna's high school. How did that work out for you ruins? Hahahahahahahah!!!!

silverlake-bruin Author Profile Page said:

I'm here because Wolf wrote about Coach Chow (UCLA) and a student athlete we were recruiting (Toma)

Isn't a better question why Wolf is obsessing with Toma and Chow?

kptrojan Author Profile Page said:

silverlake, why would you want to believe anything that a USC blogger is writing, or why would you want to even follow what Wolfeee write? Again, if you are FUCLA man, then not why stay on their site. I don't follow (or go hunting) to a FUCLA site for Trojan information. Why, because most of it is probably not true (although you have take everything that Wolfeee blogs, with a grain of salt also). Fight On!

name calling galore, but not one person denies that Pete runs a corrupt program.

LAWYER JOHN Author Profile Page said:

You all know me. I seldom make comments about posters, even if they insult me.

But let me give you a little insight about this silverlake-bruin. I posted on UGLA's brown-nosing Dohn's site for most of 2008. And this woman, middle-aged, physically ugly humanoid always had some nasty comment about me despite the fact that my comments were pretty much neutral (otherwise Facist Dohn would have booted me off his stupid blog long before he did).

But this jerk of all jerks, the physically ugly silverlake-bruin should take a long look at herself in the mirror every day. God, why am I so ugly?

silverlakecunt, how can you cast stones of corruption when your slick dick coach has corrupted 2 programs, I hope for your sake he's not on his 3rd. Silly little pussy ruin.

As an LSU fan I'm interested to hear how the Trojan fans can rationalize the allegations that your rival fan laid out.

P.S. I found this blog through an ESPN.com story about this stuff. I think a solid explanation would make all this stuff go away.

It is funny how suddenly USC is in the mix now that Bryce Brown and his 'manager' have turned this into a shady recruitment. Maybe Carrol and the boosters worked up a plan to get Bryce that $5,000,000 he was willing to take to play in the CFL. You know the program is corrupt when the ass. Sarkisian goes into Washington and immediately commits several NCAA recruiting violations. It is just so routine for USC that he probably doesn't even realize what is right and wrong anymore. He was just doing it the USuC way!

Let's face it, college athletes are people who will make mistakes, some worse than others. They are people who will be tempted by greed, who will have lapses in judgment, and who feel entitled because they are athletes. Trojans and UCLA players are not exceptions.

The difference here is the institution. UCLA has punished its players for rules violations; USC has not, or if they do, it's a nominal punishment.

Trojans always point out the handicap parking and Medlock DUI. Yes, stupid moves by the athletes. Players were punished and Toledo lost his job. Medlock was suspended for 4 months, including that year's bowl game.

Across town... it's a totally different story. Everything is denied, maybe a one game suspension, and of course the claim of ignorance. Some call it loyalty to your players; but there's no sugar coating it. It's self interested behavior by the institution. There lies the problem. The institution is supposed to correct the players' transgressions and it's not being done at USC.

LAWYER JOHN Author Profile Page said:

Just read the latest comments on this subject. It is late in the week and noone will read this except perhaps bruin920 because he wants to see if his comments will warrant comments.

How could SC have known about Bush's transgressions? They no doubt are true but why blame an institution? Just like UGLA's football players testing positive for drug-use a few months ago. Is this UGLA's fault? No. How can you police 100 football players?

So, just lighten up Cal-ripoff fanatic. Try taking a neutral pill. Maybe then you can see straight.

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis.
