There is some increasing buzz that Randall Carroll will commit to UCLA. It is not confirmed but everyone is asking for the latest feeling, so that's it for now.

I wouldn't be surprised a bit. Fact is that SC loaded up big-time at DB today, so go to UCLA for early playing time. And .500 seasons and Emerald Bowls, if you're lucky. I like how their two stud O-line recruits will both be taking missions, meaning no real O-line improvement for the Bruins for 3 or 4 years. There is an argument to be made that the LDS 2 year absence wreaks havoc on programs not designed for it, like BYU.

With a ton of DB commitments already, who can blame him?
Why doesn't SC want him to be a WR? What am I missing?

I have much respect for what pete carroll has done for usc and usc's past in football...but the monopoly here in LA is soon to be over. Two consecutive stellar classes back to back will put UCLA on the map pretty soon. No more mediocre seasons. This will be a true rivalry. The way it should be. The nineties were dominated by ucla...and as of recent usc. id rather see both programs at top notch levels battling it out at seasons end.
The Donkey admires bruingio's optimism but feels sad for his lack of analytic skills....it will take a lot more time for the bruins to be competitive.

Wow. 9 "F"s at Cathedral is pretty hard to accomplish. Very low academic standards at Cathedral, especially for FB players who transfer there like RC. In fact, the academic standards for FB players are so low there that CHS is known as the "USC" of Catholic Schools in LA.

Rounding out the rankings: No. 4 Ohio State, No. 5 Texas, No. 6 Florida State, No. 7 Michigan, No. 8 North Carolina, No. 9 Georgia and No. 10 Florida. UCLA was ranked No. 16.

These LDS players who go anywhere but BYU and a lesser extent, Utah, are football players first and missionaries second (or maybe not at all). They are likely saying they want to go on a mission to keep their parents happy. Chances of them actually going on the mission when the time comes? 50% at best.

I like our recruits! Today was a great day for USC! We got some great guys and the guys who might have been trouble stayed away. And Wolf should be excited as well. LSU made the top 3. I wonder what Wolf's final poll will look like for recruiting classes. Will he have USC in the top 10?

You want to see something interesting, go look at Rivals top 100 from '06. Very few SC recruits that year have distinguished themselves. Taylor Mays is the shining exception. Mustain is the #2 QB behind Stafford and AHEAD of Tebow. Hazleton #7 player in the country, Damian Williams barely cracked the top 100. I could go on, check it out.

Carroll goes to fUCLA. He cited family reasons, and the ability to run track. I can't wait for Mays nest year to hand him his helmet ala Ellison on Desean Jackson.

Go Bruins
With his 9 F's at Cathedral, its doubtful he'll play anywhere next year anyway.
Is ASU going to steal another one?
