More Recruiting
USC was strong in the South with Jarvis Jones from Georgia and pulling Frankie Telfort out of Miami. But will that be remembered more than losing Manti Te'o? Or Vontaze Burfict?
Is Ken Norton to blame? Or Caesar? He always gets the credit, after all.

Wolf I'm usally with you but evev I got to say shut the he'll up you d bag!!!
Norton has done a great job since he's been at SC. How can a class ranked #2 by rivals (with a chance to be #1) be considered a failure? Good grief. Everyone knows that Burfict bailed because he can't spell SC. Teo has non-football matters on his mind. He wants to do his mission, and I say God bless him. Wish him luck at ND. He's going to need it.
No one outside lsu can say they have a better class yet you talk trash wolf? What did you blog about when sc was in it's down years? Oh yeah you had a piss ass two inches in the daily news
Norton is to be CONRATULATED. Telfort and Jones specifically said they are coming to SC to be coached by Norton.
Why must there be any blame? Any program would trade classes in a heartbeat.
If Barkley and Kennard waiting until signing day to announce, everyone would be dancing with glee. There's no need to put a damper on a great recruiting class.
Wolf,
What do Norton or Carroll have to do with one kid's religious convictions and another kid's lack of academic talent?
As I often say, Scott Wolf might not be the world's greatest journalist, but he should be applauded for running a non-censorship blog. I have been kicked off the blog of Brian Dohn, the Midwest Facist, twice for doing nothing more than gently teasing UGLA, and yet Wolfie allows all kinds of profanity and name-calling on his blog. Bravo, uphold the Constitution.
One aside regarding Locoweed. I had the pleasure of meeting him at the Cal game last week, and he is much more of a gentleman in person than his writings might sometimes suggest. And does that man know how to make daughters. Amen!
I guess we'd also have to say SC's class is a failure because every 5 star on the planet didn't commit to the Trojans. An equally stupid statement.
Laywer John is right. Wolfe often writes stuff I don't agree with, and I think he sometimes writes things just to get a rise out of us Trojan diehards, but where else would you go on letter of intent day. Wolfe's blog rocks.
Blame Norton, they should fire him immediately!
One player does not make a recruiting class at USC. And following up on Boom and RTR's comments, if Te'o never showed interest in SC, would this class be a disappointment? Absolutely not. The quality of the recruiting class is based on who committed to SC today, and not who didn't commit
Carroll and Co. did another fantastic job, and I look forward to the next several years when these guys hit the field.
Fight On!
Burfict couldn't academically qualify. Te'o is only going to play for one year before leaving on a two-year mission. USC will miss that 5-star talent, but not the accompanying headaches.
I look forward to USC scoring 40+ on ASU and ND next year.
Fight On!
Ken Norton is to blame. He did not tape up his fingers when Burfict and Te'o visited. Although he is Peter's Lap Dog, he didn't jump high enough to convince these recruits. Plus, he let Pressley go.
Thank you Scott Wolf for being the objective reporter that you are. You are a true asset to this blog.

Capitan Idiot is busy busing tables right now at the restaurant. He cannot come to the computer.
Panchito
Still in the running for Orson Charles...
#2 recruiting class in the country. Not too bad. SC can't be blamed for Burfict being an idiot. Te'o is unbelieveable.
USC will have 3 first round linebackers drafted. Weather is better for a guy from Hawaii. Travel closer to Hawaii. Weiss is a jerk. What went wrong?
I think Manti and Charlie must have had some kind of deep religious connection....a God talk. And Weiss must have reassured him about his mission and introduced him to the local LDS church. PC should use this to adjust his recruiting tactics for LDS players, or abandon them altogether. The 2 year mission just does not fit well with the program. I wonder if Kavienga is going? How could he with the critical needs at LB?
Trojan Amigos, GOD is much bigger and more important than football, especially to person with deeply held religious beliefs. If an LDS Mission does not "fit well" with the FB program, then so be it.
I repeat, do not lose sight that GOD is much bigger and more important than Football.
Panchito
I guess with the name panchito, you must be about 11 years old, you don't need to lecture anyone on the meaning of God. What you need to do is get back in the hole that you crawled out of.
