Jawanza Starling's letter still has not arrived at the football office. Not a good sign. Jarvis Jones can play middle linebacker next season, to offset the losses of Manti Te'o and Vontaze Burfict, Carroll said. Malcolm Smith can also play middle linebacker.
Cornerback Josh Pinkard obtained his sixth year of eligibility.

I think we move Greene to LB, Hall to TB, and Moore to CB. So, there is room for Starling at safety. I simply don't understand how Weis is having any recruiting success whatsoever. ND has been an embarassment the last few years. Do kids really want to get blown out 40-3 by SC every year? Apparently some do. I don't understand.
Also, I think we move Nick Perry officially to LB as well to shore up depth. AND, I finally read that Uona Kavienga has decided NOT to take his LDS mission. Does the fact that SC has LDS players, but none of them to my knowledge have taken their mission, help to explain Manti's decision today? Methinks this likely.
Nick Perry will never move to LB. He'll be DL for sure.
So Wolfie pumps up the Te'o "coverage" on his blog to inevitably pounce on the let down and antagonize USC fans... What a hack...and a predictable one at that.
I think you're giving Scott just a little too much credit here.
NO one anticipated the Te'o decision. Pretty much every journalist and recruiting agency in the country had him down as a Trojan. MAYBE a Bruin.
You really think Scott was the only one who saw it coming -- and rather than making himself look great by being the only journalist to call it right, crafted a devious plot to dash the hopes of the faithful?
no one anticipated?
your U$C since of entitlement blinds you, key point being when did Manti's parents make a special trip just to see the ghetto around the condom campus.
Gritzy, your grammar and spelling skills are truly outstanding.
Your comments cannot be taken seriously by anyone here until you learn how to spell and properly construct a sentence.
I guess that is how you spell "sense," in westworld.
Gritzy, have you been to South Bend lately? It's a DUMP!
Gritzy touched my monkey
oh know what ever will I do I typed the wrong word oh and I didn't put in enough commas.
you guys are priceless
know????
Is your last name Burfict?
Sorry, "Ex-Cop" but you're sadly wrong on two key points.
1) Hyping is a win-win for this demagogue: He either plays down the commitment and rubs salt in about another recruit...or he plays up the loss. Either way, he pulls his hackneyed chick little dance about the program slipping... This is called his MO.
2) Wolfie is not a "journalist." Wolfie is a disgruntled cheerleader.
Hahahaha.... Banter between people living in South Bend and South Los Angeles is funny... MOOOOOOORE!!!
Trojans lighten up... 3rd in the nation is not that bad.
Again, go to Rivals.com and look up SC's highly rated recruit class of '06. Mostly busts, this is like playing the stock market. You may have a good idea on a stock, sometimes you'll totally score, some do Okay, and others fizzle out. The rankings by Rivals, Scout etc have some basis in reality but should be taken with a grain of salt. They should really be ranked 4-5 years down the road. The signing day ranking is comical.
Chris Metcalf has not signed also, whats the issue?
I've said it before, but an AP look at Rivals and Scouts star rankings show they pan out only 50 to 60% of the time. Sam Bradford and Colt McCoy were "only" 3 star prospects. And remember Clay Mathews? Dirk, you're right...signing day rankings are like throwing darts at the dart board most of the time. What matters is what happens on Saturdays...certainly not Thursday nights ;o)
SC is in a ghetto and South Bend is a dump?-- Huh? Have you ever been to these places?
Adams Boulevard and the Rose Gardens of the Coliseum border SC. And the SC campus has century old charm. And although South Bend is a small midwest town, the Notre Dame campus is located in the woods outside of town and is quite pictureseque with the fall colors in October.
Now let's talk about UGLA. I was at the game last night, and walked along Westwood Boulevard 1/2 mile to Pauley Pavilion. UGLA is a scary place. It is a gray and cold factory filled with colorless and cold looking people.

Notre Dame is probably one of the most amazing campuses I've ever seen. And I've been there in the winter when the sun is nowhere to be seen, and I've still been awed by that place. I can totally understand why a recruit would be lured to that school.
South Bend can be a little rough though because of gangs from Chicago and Gary.
Any UCLA supporter that uses the "$" in place of an "S" when spelling USC or uses the word "condoms" when referencing the Trojans gets automatically written off in my book. I don't speak 'tard. Anything you have to say after that might as well be written in pig-Latin for all I care.
Using the word "know" in place of "now" is just icing on the cake.
The best part of gritzy's defense? That proper grammar is for elites and showoffs. You are officially a moron gritzy.

Lawyer John is divorced from reality!!!!!
Westwood was once a fun, lively, hip area a few decades ago, but it has not turned into a wild west ghosttown awaiting the next gangbang. At least the gangs know to stay clear of the SC/University Park area.
