About Inside USC
Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC
graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for
the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet
message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this
moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in
antagonizing the "Internet geeks."

Our Daily Dread: Strausburg's bonus, baby in Farther Off the Wall

The end of Trojan supremacy is near. Pom Pom Pete has been exposed as a selfish man that will never win a BCS title without the help of Norm Chow. The recruits know it and this is why the tides are turning in LA. UCLA Bruins = 2010 Pac 10 Champs.
Scott, your stupid article is titled "Trojans get top-three recruiting class," but in the actual article you repeatedly say the class is ranked #4. There is also a grammatical error where you write "Expectations tend to override reality. A 12-1 season and trip to the Rose Bowl is nice - unless you expect national a championship."
What's a national a championship? Is that better than the national championship? Does that mean that if USC would've won it all this year that you would have called it a "National B Championship?" I'm confused.
Does the Daily News have an editor on staff? Seriously, you should be embarrased that this crap gets printed.
If USC would've signed Teo, Burfict, Carroll, X, and Alshon, you would talk about how they didn't get Gaffney or Cliff Harris or some other recruit that USC wasn't even really looking at.
You are like that kid in school that puts his finger in your face and says "I'm not touching you, na na na na na na."
Underachieving Troy,
Why not go out on a limb and forecast a 2009 pac10 championship for the bruins? My advise for ucla fans is to simply hope to be competitive against MWC teams before predicting conference titles. Or better yet, try not to lose by a combined score of 103-6 to schools from Utah.
By the way, Sc has proved that it can convincingly win its final football game of the year. That's more than Howland can say.
-Rusty
No denying it was a good day for the Bruins yesterday, and pretty bad for the Trojies. Trojies got ROLLED in basketball and recruiting yesterday.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot, 13-9.
Panchito
Panchito=Scott Wolf.
I don't think there is another grown man on this planet that would actually use the word Trojies.
13-9...really? Are we still talking about that? Is that all bruin fans have these days...13-9? Pretty sad (for them).
@ Panchito
I won't lie the Bruins had a good day yesterday. But we didn't get "rolled" in recruiting. Would you rather have our class our your class. Everyone else would pick ours. 13-9? Is that really the only win you can bring up? It's pretty sad that's all that comes to mind because that implies all the other years your butts are getting kicked by SC.
Rose Bowl Championships with BCS Title Talent = Underachieving Troy.

Do you think the new OC will run the same offense as Dorrell did at UCLA? Both of them did come from the Broncos system.
¡Hola amigos Oseznos!
What a 24 hours it has been! But first, congratulations are due. As we predicted, our clattering basketball group (can’t really call them a team, can we?) fell apart with all the drama of a Puccini Opera, with Signore Hackett playing his tragic part to perfection under Direttore Floyd. Yes, your boys in blue stripped off the bailing wire and duct tape and exposed a wad of Il Direttore’s chewing gum. Well done amigos. The amazing part is that our ragazzi are in 3rd place. The Pac10 must really really stink, no?
As usual, Pete Carroll brought home a stellar cache of 19 elite players with an average rating or 3.89* and a National Rank of #4 on Rivals -the only service that can be taken somewhat seriously. There was one major disappointment in the loss of Manti Te’o (we had given Burfict and Carroll up for dead some time ago), but it was more than made up by the addition of Mr. Frankie Telfort (the fastest LB ever at USC) and the frightening Mr. Jarvis Jones. Much luck to your feeble offensive line as they try to stop the Trojan defense from Cowanizing your next QB, bless his soul.
‘Ol Slick landed a pretty nice class too, landing 27 players with an average Rivals rating of 3.33 and a National Rank of #14. These are pretty good numbers by UCLA standards generating a #4 ranking at Scout/ESPN where quantity is more important than quality. The star of the class will probably be Thigpen, another Maurice Jones-Drew perhaps? Anyway, the monopoly is over, yes Siree.
Well amigos, enjoy the rest of the off-season. It will be our pleasure to continue crushing you in the only college sport that really matters; the victories will be even more satisfying because now you actually believe you can win.
¡Hasta la vista!
Priceless...

Isn't it funny how these westwood high followers come to SC board with handles like Underachieving Troy or Pantsing-boy to talk about how their high school will win the Pac10 championship in 2010 or the score from three years ago? Accodring to Too Ruined's logic with one year of pretty good recruiting class they'll win the Pac10 in two years. I bet he's one of those handful of fans who said westwood high will beat SC when Norm Chow was hired. The Rosebowl Championships won by SC that he so underestimates....his high school hasn't won since 1986. They barely went twice in 21+ year span and Wisconsin happened to them both times. 2nd class coaches?! Heard of Slick Rick?? NCAA Violations?? gambling?? Norm Chow and Dewayne Walker used to coach at SC so are they 2nd class? Had Ken Norton Jr.(whom westwood high didn't hire before Pete did) gone to his alma mater to replace Dewayne, he would've upgraded to the 1st class coach just like Slick Rick?? I know it's hard for you but please try to make sense. In other words, try to overachieve.
@ Pantsing-boy 13-9?? Kiddin me? You can hold onto the score dearly for the next ten years until we try hard not to win and succeed. Haven't seen any Trojan braggin about 27-0, 52-21, 47-22, 66-19(yes, in the 2000s) or even 28-7 two months ago. BTW, there were scores 76-0 and 52-0 both SC.

"The football monopoly in Los Angeles is officially over THERE at SC." -Slick Rick
I am all for competition. I have left the last two SC-UGLA football games at halftime. UGLA could not compete and it was boring.
And I left the game last night at halftime. SC was schooled by UGLA basketball. Again. It was boring.
Wouldn't it be fun if both schools went into each game and the odds marked it as a tossup game?
Just sayin'
PS-- Good stuff, Locoweed. I can't write as well as you so I stick to sound-bites.

@ ut, I would respond to you but I walk around a pile of shit.
@ panchita, you are pathetic with your 13 - 9 rant, hold on to it, it's all you've got and all you will have.
