No Harm, No Foul
Yesterday we wrote about an obscene gesture Dwight Lewis made toward Leonard Washington during the Washington game and the players' arguing during a timeout. Apparently since this was an in-game transgression, it did not warrant any type of punishment.

Lewis was required to do drills for an hour along with Hackett. Thus, it is kind of misleading to say there was no punishment (although the punishment apparently focused on after-game conduct). Hopefully, the coaches made it clear that such in-game behavior will not be tolerated with your teammate.
I was surprised that Leonard Washington didn't suffer any reprisals after he elbowed Oklahoma's Blake Griffen in the family jewels (other than get tossed from that game). I was surprised that the NCAA or Pac-10 didn't impose a suspension (assuming one of them has such power). I was more surprised that USC didn't impose any discipline. He made a stupid mistake that likely cost USC the game in a one-point loss.
I have to respectfully disagree with Mike. I watched that game and reviewed the youtube, which is still up, and I am convinced that Leonard only gave Blake the slightest love tap. And, it looked more like a forearm to the stomach. Griffen flopped big time, IMO, so nothing more than a foul call was warranted. And, I believe that Timmy used this as a "teachable moment" with young Leonard who has performed admirably since.
