USC Basketball: A Dynasty Not In the Making.

I'm sure Li'l Romeo is a quality kid, but the fact that Coach Floyd wasted an athletic scholarship on him is the reason I won't be at the Galen Center for the next four years.

I have no problem with middling athletic programs giving out scholarships to below average players. That's why it's okay for me that SC basketball gave Lil' Romeo a scholie and it's okay that Notre Dame football gave Toma a scholie. Now if a legitimate program (AKA USC football) had given a bonus scholarship to a subpar player like Toma just to get Te'o, I would have been upset. Real programs don't need to dole out freebies - that's why it's so funny that Notre Dame did so... it's basically an admission that their program isn't worth the extra-high grass they play on.
