Revisionist History

Quite often in the Open Forum, readers ask about football players playing two sports. Apparently they do and no one knows it.
Here’s an excerpt from PeteCarroll.com

“After two years of double-duty, Travon Patterson is going to have a one-track mind now.
A rising redshirt junior, Patterson has played wideout for the Trojans in the fall and sprinted for the track team in the spring for the last few years. But he’s decided to hang up the track spikes this year in favor of devoting more time to football and being able to fully participate in Spring Practice.”

For the record, Patterson’s never run a race for the USC track team. Two years ago, he pulled his hamstring running a 40-yard dash for football at the end of spring practice and did not compete. Last year, he came out for two weeks but never competed because he showed up injured.
