Status Check

On Tuesday, we said Fairfax High School forward Renardo Sidney could change his mind at any time before his Sunday college announcement. We currently rate things as a toss up, a slight change from our original post.

Well it's good of all you guys to get together and reach consensus on the new status. Maybe you all could post your names somewhere on the blog so your readers would know whose opinions we are reading?

The more I look at Sidney, the more I want him to become a Bruin. They don't like him all that much either, but they ARE more desperate, and better equipped to deal with a knucklehead.

Locoweed, I concur.

We don't need these headache 1-and-done players who are thinking more about themselves than the team. The NBA is ruining college basketball and turning into a minor league training system. Get big pub in high school, play one season in college and pad your resume, then off for the big bucks.

We need more Daniel Hackett type players!

Locoweed, I concur. I think USC needs more players like Little Romeo. Romeo will stay all 4 years and he shoots good from the permiter.

In our desperate search for big men, we'll probably look the way on Sidney's shortcomings and put up with him. After the Love situation, I too would much rather find unpolished gems who will be quality guys as juniors and seniors. However, we've got to somehow bridge the gap between now and the future as we wait on guys like Bobo Morgan and Anthony Stover (recruit for next year) to develop into something.

Hey Panchito aka little Francisco, the correct term is "...and he shoots well from the perimeter." You didn't go to college did you, Panchito, it shows. UGLA can have you.

And, you Blue Bruin, you fool, SC could care less about UGLA's problems. Your team stinks and is boring compared to the running Huskies.

Aah, I just love Wolf's blog, we can get away with saying anything. Over on Dohn's blog Panchito, Blue Bruin and I would have been kicked off by now by ol Fascist Dohn

Ha ha. A baboon with a keyboard and internet access calling herself a "LAWYER" on the internet.

I've read many of your posts before and to call yourself a "LAWYER" is an insult to the legal profession.

Hey LJ, Dohn puts up with plenty of your drivel!

It wasn't boring blowing out SC a few weeks ago. There were some great dunks by the Bruins!

Hey Blue Bruin,

I happen to know Lawyer John; he is distinguished attorney in Los Angeles, a USC donor, and a pretty cool cat.

LJ has a legitimate beef with Dohn. Like you BB, LJ believes in freedom of speech, but Dohn does not seem to hold this value quite as dearly. In the past, Dohn has treated his newspaper blog like a "fan site" and monitored every comment for "correctness." He banned LJ for making comments that were no more controversial than the ones you make regularly here on Wolf's blog. LJ is absolutely correct in his criticism of Dohn. The good news is that Dohn seems to be changing his ways recently, and it may have something to do with what LJ and others have pointed out. The DN, Wolf and Dohn serve the public, and the public should be allowed to speak freely.

The LJ that appeared on Dohn's blog several months ago is a crafty impostor that hijacked LJ's identity and has continued to needle away surreptitiously. "Let me say in a few brief words" says the impostor (who happens to be a Bruin), as he enjoys stirring up the flames. He is a fellow Spanish speaker, and on this site he goes by Panchito. ¿No es verdad amigo? As El Gran Abogado Juan he was amusing at times, but as Panchito he is just an imbecilic troll.

I thought you should know this only because you are a voice of reason among Bruins, and because the good people of the Central Valley will save California from becoming a commie enterprise. Good luck to all of us.

Loco, thanks for the kind words but I am not the Lawyer John on Dohn's blog. I believe there are various folks who post under that name, some who speak Spanish and some who are Australian or British. Just like there are various folks who post on Dohn's blog under VB and all his relatives, plants, cats, etc.

The Daily News is a private newspaper, and Dohn runs a private blog. I believe Dohn can set up whatever rules he wants for his blog. I am sure that Dohn had a very good reason for banning anyone, namely violating his rules and warnings.
