The Pac-10 finally found a way to play in the Alamodome. Notre Dame plays Washington State at the Alamodome on Oct. 31. Knowing Notre Dame, it will count this as one of its road games.

Actually they refer to it as a "neutral field" since it is at neither home stadium. Stick to what you know and not what you think you know.

I think ND's new AD (Swarbrick?) has talked about making their schedule 7-4-1, so this would be the 1 neutral field game as gritzy said.
I get the sense that an increasing number of Irish fans/alum are upset with their weak schedule, but ND does appear to be playing the SEC/Big 12 game of scheduling a bunch of weak teams, with few serious opponents - USC and Michigan (sort of). And then hoping that a 10 win season gets them to a bowl game. Still, 10+ wins under Weis seems to be a real stretch.
ND apologists are pointing to Michigan State and Purdue as real opponents, and trying to claim that ND plays a tough schedule. I think this just shows how far the ND football program has actually fallen. At least under Lou Holtz, the AD scheduled real opponents and the Irish had a legitimate claim to being a college football powerhouse. Now, its all about satisfying GE and the NBC contract with easy wins, or at least not embarassing losses.

You are right on Trojan SF, how the mighty iwish have fallen. I have copied their 2009 schedule, I guess they traded Nevada and Connecticut for Army and Air Force. It's a very, very weak schedule.

Sept. 12 at Michigan
Sept. 19 Michigan State (HOME)
Sept. 26 at Purdue
Oct. 3 Washington (HOME)

Oct. 31 at Washington State (San Antonio, Texas)

Nov. 28 at Stanford
