Carico To Minnesota
USC volleyball player Taylor Carico will transfer to Minnesota, it was announced today. She is the second Trojan player to transfer to the Golden Gophers. In 2005, Sarah Florian left USC for Minnesota.

Taylor has already informed Minnesota that she will enroll in summer school and play volleyball for one semester in the fall, then transfer back to USC in the spring to graduate from USC in May 2010.
The entire thing has nothing to do with being a "student-athlete," but only being an athlete.
