Demetri Papadakis, the younger brother of Petros Papadakis, will play at UCLA in the fall. The tailback-linebacker from Peninsula High School is the first member of his immediate family who will not attend USC.

Wow. I guess the Monopoly is over.

If Petros were entering college now, he'd have to go to ucla too. He was marginal on a bad, talentless team, not to mention an embarrassment generally. Good riddance.

I'm assuming he isn't much of a player if he wasn't recruited and signed earlier. Is he even getting a scholarship or is he a walk-on?

Guess Skippy was some free meals before the place closes.

Blue Bruin Author Profile Page said:

I never heard anything about his recruitment. I'm assuming he's a walk on.

Petros originally went to Cal, big deal.

Marginal talent, so he should fit right in with the bRUINS.

I was told he did not meet USC's entrance requirements.

Poor ruins... still scraping the bottom of the barrel, just like their radio station.

wonderful group of folks here who feel the need to bash a kid they don't know for picking a school where he may or may not even play a down of football. anyone who played a sport in college knows what a great opportunity it is, regardless of whether it's at a top-ranked program or a Division III loser. The guy clearly understands he's not an NFL prospect and like most other college kids, went with the best school available to him. What an idiot.

Read it again, Sam

It looks as if the posters are picking on SUCLA more than they are the Papadakis kid.

As we say in these parts, win or lose,
BRUINS SUCK

GoTroyGo Author Profile Page said:

sped- I'll bet you lunch the kid wouldn't be going ANYWHERE if his last name wasn't Papadakis.

just4sc Author Profile Page said:

anyone know if SC offered him a preferred walk-on ? We have strong ties with the family,

spedjones Author Profile Page said:

If I read correctly, LJ, "bottom of the barrel" and "marginal talent" were directed towards him. Classy. At least he'll be getting the best education offered in LA.

Go Troy, no idea if that's true or not. Never actually heard of the kid. I wasn't aware, however, that the name Papadakis carried much weight anywhere.

why u guyz raggin on petros? ur like cannibals. i myself have hated petros in a deep terrible way ... buuuut, hes grown on me now, hes actually pretty funny.

as for his brother, hes obviously making the most of whatever fortunate circumstance hes found himself in, so he chose the university that will provide for him the best possible education than anywhere else on the freakin planet. THAT....is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help u God (and u evil trOJans definitely need help from God).

Let me guess awesomebruin (an oxymoron, by the way), you were an English major, right?

Good luck to little Papadakis. Their family has been loyal to USC for many years. Petros had more success in the media (he's everywhere), than he did on the field. I enjoy his radio show with Money, and he is a decent color commentator on FSN.

Since these vermin SUCLAs feel compelled to write on our blog, let's address them. Anybody who calls himself 'awesomebruin' is a typical L.A. egotist who has himself as a god and has no room for the real God. Enough said about this idiot freak.

And locoweed got it right. I recall only one class at SC that had more than 30 students. But at SUCLA I would imagine that most kids cannot recall more than one class with less than 100 students.

Cattle call versus individual attention. That is one of the prime differences between $40,000 per year tuition at SC and $4,000 or so at SUCLA. No wonder SUCLA hates SC so much.

LAWYER JOHN Author Profile Page said:

This SUCLA vermin is disgusting. And is it not typical of SUCLA to have some guy, probably some high school dropout, call himself 'awesomebruin.' A loser L.A. guy, with a god complex who has no room in his soul for the real God. But enough said about this idiotic freak who relishes any comment about him

And Locoweed was right on about an SC education vs SUCLA. I don't recall any class greater than 30 students except for one in my years at SC. And SUCLA kids probably cannot recall any classes under 30 or maybe under 200. Such is the difference between $40,000 at SC and $4,000 or so at SUCLA.

No wonder SUCLA envies SC so much. It goes with the territory, and SUCLA is not the only one who hates the Trojans. Jealousy and envy are such shallow emotions, but that is what you get with SUCLA.

And Yoda Joka, your schtick is boring and tiresome. Why don't you take your act to the SUCLA boards where you can show off how smart you are.

Another SUCLA loser.

Charlie Bucket Author Profile Page said:

Nice work, "Sweeter than Soda" Yoda. You reduced the Angry Ballif to admitting you're smarter than him and he just wants to to go away. tee-hee. What happened the once ferocious Angry Bailiff?? Maybe he was up all night preparing for a murder trial? Weird how SUC attacks it's own at the drop of a hat. Why criticize a boy for going to a better academic (documented) and
athletic (documented) institution than his big brother?

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
