The simple answer is that tOSU doesn't have open practices like most schools, which creates unimaginable anticipation, plus as was mentioned, they don't have the option of hitting the beaches.

USC has open practices, and gets superior reporting from WeareSC and Scout and Rivals as a result of the open practice philosophy
