About Inside USC
Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC
graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for
the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet
message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this
moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in
antagonizing the "Internet geeks."

Airport security has been very intrusive since 2001 with passengers being required to remove more and more items of clothing simply to gain entrance into the terminal. So to the Tings just breeze right through?
Pete Carroll versus Tim Floyd in a fight?
At this stage in the game, and given recent contract inkings, would you rather be MJD or Reggie Bush?
Are Marcus Johnson and Mike Gerrity currently on basketball scholarships?
hi scott this is alex gomez from st paul hs. we met on career day. please send me your email. i have some write ups that i would like some feedback on. my email is ilovela3353@yahoo.com please get back to me thanks!
Will there be a celebrity honored at Swim With Mike? Last year the idiot Will Ferrell showed up but refused to sign autographs and made a general ass out himself during the short time he was there. Can we or should we expect someone with some class this time?
Do you think Carroll will redshirt Barkley? On the one hand, we have two capable QBs in Corp and Mustain, such that Barkley's services are not required this year (absent injury). On the other hand, Barkley may only have 3 years at USC and then bolt for the pros, thus raising a "play 'em while you got 'em" mentality. So get out your crystal ball - Will Barkley redshirt this year?
I heard an interview with Corp earlier on espn radio, and it was honestly one of the most boring things ive ever listened to, and i'm a mechanical engineer. He gave one word answers, and seemed disjointed and uncaring. Do you think Corp has the intangibles in terms of communicating with and leading the team and dealing with the media as usc qbs always do?
Eating esblishments have this sign - "No shirt. No shoes. No service."
Where then do the Tings go to eat?
Is there a final RPI ranking after the NCAA tourny and where is USC ranked?
Do you consider this years basketball team a overachiever or underachiever or neither...
Scott, would you please respond to this Alex Gomez kid already.
Last week, I asked you for your take on the economy and the effect it might have on the 2009-10 athletic programs. Do you believe than one or more programs may suffer more than any of the programs? Is the football program the most secure of the entire Trojan athletic programs? Fight On!
Scott, re the guy who missed some workouts, and was barred from spring practice, can you now tell us who he was---if not, are the Trojans now saying he is injured? Relatedly, were the workouts voluntary, and did they ever relent and let him practice? Thanx.
If there are two outs, runners on first and second, and the batter smashes a ball between first and second, a hard hit ground ball that no fielder could possibly reach, but the ball hits the runner going from first, making him automatically out, thus ending the inning, does the batter get credited with a base hit, and, if so, must he then touch first base to make it official?
Mr. Wolf, have fans (USC or any other sports fan) ever made fun of you or presented themselves in a threatening manner in person? Thanks.
Is Bradford destined to spend another year on the pine? Has Pete ever tried to get him to switch to LB?
Scott, just a comment, I'd like to reserve my question for later if I think of one. [Insert, no, this is my question.]
I read the last chat where you said you were going to use the new format because the old way made you sit there from start to finish.
Why not keep the old way, and when you get tired, just announce you are going to take a ten minute break, or whatever? That way we can read it later if we miss it, and I'm sure most of us did because you only gave us 90 minutes notice. I myself was on the site at 1pm and again at 7pm, but still missed it, and I love the chats.
Remember, the vote was 90-10 for the old way, cuz some of our computers can't handle the new way.
Also, around the time the chats started, you asked us to vote on how much notice we would like, and the vote was for one day.
OK, Scott, I'll make this my question. Will you please keep the old way, and, if possible, or whenever possible, give us one days notice please? If not, you are effectively shutting out 90 percent of your loyal, everyday readers it would appear. I read on the last chat where you repeatedly said you were going to switch to the new format, so will you please reconsider? Why pander to the 10 percent who say it's too slow? How would they feel if they were shut out, and the situation were reversed?
Hi Scott - how are numbers distributed to the returning players and incoming freshman? If a returning player wants to switch numbers, does the team use age/class to determine who gets to choose an available number first or does Pete give preference to the new guys? Finally, will the coveted #55 be given out this season or will Pete promise the number to a H.S. recruit?
Scott, do you know of any site we could go to that lists who the Trojans have offered football scholies to for 2010? Thanks.
By the way, I think the Weasel guy [girl] two questions above really nailed it; I bet almost all of us are in complete agreement with him [her]. I know all of my friends are, both of them.
No, seriously, everyone wants the old way, and like the person said, just take a break when you want to. We all thought it went plenty fast earlier this week. Thanks.
I am a fan of USC Football and I am worried about the season. Is USC facing its worst season under Pete Carroll as coach besides the first year. Some reasons for a down year due to no set quarterback, rising number of top teams in the conference and nationally, two new first year college coordinators, young defense, injured offense line, and a lack of depth at key positions. So will this be the toughest year for USC Football ?
IDO Security develops a solution called the MagShoe for shoes-on weapons metal detection – filling a critical void in the market by extending security screening to the lower body and feet. (OTCBB: IDOI) http://www.idosecurityinc.com
In the 2008 recruiting class, Nick Perry was the the top recruit. Based on reports Perry is not even on the second on any depth charts, will Nick Perry transfer and how is he in practice? Is Coach Jethro Franklin not improving Perry?
USC is known to have a professional style offense unlike Florida, and Missouri who use the spread. USC has a professional offense since the quarterback goes under center and reads the defense. Spread offenses use the shotgun.NFL teams like this about USC players that they are more prepared for the NFL due to this. Jim Bates is bring the shotgun more unlike before when Norm Chow and early in the Kiffin/ Sarkisian time when USC never used the shotgun. Why is USC using the shotgun more and turning into a spread offense to read defenses, when the USC is known as a professional style offense?
Jonathon McKnight, a cornerback has been attending USC practice the last week. He is Joe McKnight's little brother and a junior in high school. He is a top recruit and with the lack of depth next year at cornerback and Joe McKnight as a recruiting advantage( and to help Joe stay and not leave for the NFL), has USC offered and are they recruiting Jonathan McKnight? Additionally can you ask Pete Carroll or find out why McKnight was attending practice when only players USC are interested in recruiting mostly attend practice?
We know about the spring practice surprises, Matt Barkley, Curis McNeal, T.J. Bryant and Malcolm Smith. Which players have been the biggest disappointments of spring practice based on play and exceptions of coaches/fans/media?
