What About The Recruits?

| | Comments (20) |

It's worth noting that USC commit Solomon Hill originally committed to Arizona but changed his mind when Lute Olson retired. Would Hill switch back to the Wildcats if Tim Floyd is named Arizona coach? And how would this affect Renardo Sidney?

Hill is as good as gone...Sidney will probably re-open his recruitment (there is rumor that he and Lance Stephenson are a package deal).

Taj...good as gone
DeMar...Gone - News Flash there.
Hackett...Depends on the new coach/staff.

Going to be a fun off-season

Sidney isn't going to qualify and Floyd is tired of coaching in UCLA's shadow.

I live in Arizona and it's being reported that it's a done deal. I can't believe this is the best that UofA could do. SC will end up with a better coach.

Has Sidney taken his SAT yet? Something tells me he doesn't play for any college next year.

How about Dixon to SC? I've got to believe SC can do better than Floyd. The UofA AD is already getting blasted by some on this hire.

Anybody watch Sidney on ESPN tonight? He's a slow slug with no heart. Let him go. UofA rumors are that SC is getting Dixon. They are pissed at Livengood and he's as good as gone.

anyone have a solid clue as to what caused TF to leave so fast ???

Obviously, SW's "contacts" haven't fed him anything since SW hasn't been around.

Despite it all, this could be a great development for Trojan bball

I played high school ball. How can I apply to replace Floyd? I want to install my circle offense.

Way to be on this Wolf. I got a text from my daughter's boyfriend about this.

I got to agree, don't let the door hit you on the way out. We'll be much better off with a new guy coaching at Galen Center. Jamie Dixon, come on down ...

This will work out for UofA about as well as when SC took Larry Smith from Arizona.

Mark Few, Jamie Dixon, and Reggie Theus are the top candidates I think to be the next basketball coach.

What about Bob Knight, he is one of the top coaches.

USC needs a big name hire and theses guys will do it Theus was in thr NBA and will relate to players. Dixon is a great coach who will rival UCLA. Few has had great teams and has recruited on the west coast. Bob Knight is a big name hire and will coast less. He could bring discipline to the program.

Suckers!

I'm sure he was "unhappy" at USC. He did nothing to still passion in the fan base and I'm sure the admin began to crack down on his shady recruiting. Or he leaves before sanctions hit. Just like Chicago.

Where are all the Floyd lovers now? I figured I'd have to hold my tongue, and maybe be prepared to eat crow if UC made it to the Elite 8 next year. I was sure it would end badly, but I didn't figure it would end like this so soon.

I'm going to troll the Sunshine Pumpers over at WEAreSC!

Didn't think of that.

Pretty elaborate hoax, if he pulled this off.

There's no way Jamie Dixon takes the SC job.

Mark Few....he is the the next coach.

Bob Knight is not coming to USC. Jamie Dixon has done a fine job at Pitt, although this was the first year he got Pitt out of the Sweet 16, right?

Perhaps Rick Pitino? Although he said he would stay at Louisville, perhaps he didn't want to go to Tucson, but might like the bright lights of LA?

I'll buy everyone season tix if Few, Dixon, Knight, Pitino, or anyone else relevant becomes SC's next head basketball coach.

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
