Is Nadine' Irish Mist the future of the Southern California bar scene?
A: Yes, if we organize an event in the summer, it will be held here.
Q: Scott, last week you mentioned how important it is for recruits to hear or learn something from current or past players at USC [good or bad things] Can you tell us how this has gone at SC since you've been there, like giving us some feedback on what the recruits have told you personally? Thanx, and thanx for giving of your time on the forums.
A: USC tries to place recruits with hosts who have good personalities and can relate to the recruits. Usually, it works fine. Some recruits said they came because of the good visit they had with their hosts. In past years, I've also heard from some players who made some comments that could be less than positive. Sometimes it made no difference. Other times, it surprised the recruit and made some impact and caused them to re-evaluate their college choice. One recruit told me off the record it changed his mind and he went somewhere else. I'm not saying it frequently flipped their commitments, but recruits have said it's made a big impact.

HI WOLFIE
Have the Trojans actually encouraged anybody not to pre-announce in the recruiting process that you know of? The reason I ask is because I think you said we have possibly one silent, so it appears almost everyone, at least so far, wants to pre-announce? Thanx in advance as always.
A: I think USC's tried to encourage recruits to take their time and not make a public commitment unless they are completely sure they want to commit. So far, the players who have committed seem eager to do so. But in the past, USC pressed kids for commitments. Even two years ago, I remember people saying Morrell Presley didn't really know why he committed during the summer before he was a high school junior. I think USC is shying away from convincing recruits to commit because it only led to problems a year ago.
