Personally, I don't care what the speculation about the Coliseum's condition is-that place is a friken cathedral. I hope they don't EVER drastically change it while I'm alive.

Bring on San Jose State!

I remember the first time I entered that great structure. I was only 7 years old, with a fear of heights, and I was scared walking down those big steps to our seats. I thought I would fall and be hurt badly. Never forgot that.

And I love how the Carroll era players talk about having a home field advantage. I am not sure that was always the case. The introduction of the gong at the peristyle end on 3rd down plays has added an element of mystique and tipped off the crowd to start making some loud noise. And with great teams every year since Carroll the stadium is sold-out and the fans are into it, sensing that they can make a difference.

Also, the fact that the Trojans are in every game makes for an exciting situation for the fans.

In sum, the coliseum has a history that predates most of us, and that old edifice adds to the mystery, the history, and the marvel of SC football.

Long live the king.

Yes it's an old structure. But it still looks better than Smeagol-Wolfie's copy (i.e., articles)...by at least two millennium...

And it might not have Smeagol-Wolfie's favorite soft serve machine, but it will always have its legacy and distinction...not to mention class. But Smeagol-Wolfie has little understanding of these terms.
