No Respect
No. 1-ranked UC Irvine inexplicably got the toughest regional in the NCAA Baseball Tournament. The Anteaters host the best second-seed, ACC champs Virginia, San Diego State featuring the nation's best pitcher (Stephen Strasburg, 13-0) as the third seed and defending national champs Fresno State as the fourth seed.
As expected three Pac-10 teams got into the field (Arizona State, Washington State, Oregon State).

UCI got screwed! The 'Eats are having a groundbreaking year, so let's hope they make it out of the Regional of Death. And, thank goodness the 'Eats aren't competing in the Lexus Gauntlet.
Remember the days when Rodney Peete and company would come down to Irvine and hold summer practice on the pristine UCI fields? Great days.
Bosco:
Even Paul Hackett & Co held summer practice on the pristine UCI fields. Not so great days.
Real Baseball Intelligence (RBI), a leading resource in the evaluation of amateur baseball talent and draft coverage, offers its 2009 Baseball Draft Guide. The Guide includes RBI's Top 400 draft prospects (including Stephen Strasburg), scouting reports of the top ten players at each position, a mock draft and more. It is available at withthefirstpick.net/guide
Even though I am fan of the little engine that can "along the 57 Freeway", I'm still trying to figure out how the Titans drew the Number #2 seed over the Anteaters, and no less how the freaking convicts from Austin Prison got the #1 seed. Apparently the BCSrew up committee selects the Baseball tourney too. Fight On!
UCI deserved better.
Fullerton got a sweet draw though. Go Titans.
Titans SUC.
GTG-
Bow down to the best program in SoCal in the last 20 years. Fullerton, pal!
Titans rock!
Just what I wish I could have been: A Titan.
What a joke. Titans SUC. Dream On. BTW, where is Fullerton?
That's the whole point. Cal State Who started taking over college baseball on the west coast in the late 1970's. USC and UCLA are now 2nd or 3rd tier programs.
CSUF is the #2 National seed in this year's CWS. Meanwhile UCI was ranked #1 with USC's old coach.
The Titans never had the strongest, fastest, blue chip players, but they played as a team with a chip on their shoulder.
Oh, and the 1995 CSUF team that beat USC in the finals was voted the best CWS team in 50 years in Omaha.
Where is Fullerton? Looking way down at USC baseball thats's for sure and that is undisputed. Stick to football!
If you knew what you were talking about, you'd be dangerous. Part of the reason CAL STATE Whatever does well in baseball is because it recruits lower tier 1 and tier 2 players. USC recruits the tops players, and they commit, only to be drafted in the first or second round. They sign, and we have to go to lower tier players. How many players has CAL STATE recruited, only to have them go pro out of high school? Who cares anyway? Is fullerton by Victorville? Wow, wear my titan sweatshirt. Ever seen one outside of fullerton?
Hey Troyjan & Tonic-hahahahahah Check out the director's cup. YOU ARE TIED FOR LAST PLACE. hahahahahaha http://www.insidesocal.com/usc/archives/2009/05/no-respect.html#comments hahahahahahahah Fullerton. hahahahaha
