This is a perfect opportunity for a USC land grab! As long as the Incinerator includes the Museums, the Sports Arena, Swim Stadium and parking.

The Fat Booster is on board, we just need Steve-o to start dialing for dollars... hello, George?

The biggest question will be how much it will cost to bring it into the 2010 era? They tried to sell it to SC years ago (the state had to do a huge retrofit) for a buck. I love watching SC games there, but it really is a dump.

Hey GTG,

The earthquake retrofit was done back in the mid 90's.

From Wikipedia:
"After the 1994 Northridge Earthquake, $93 million were required from government agencies (including FEMA) to repair earthquake damage, and the renovations demanded by the Raiders were put on hold indefinitely. The last element of the Northridge Earthquake repairs was the replacement of the condemned press box with a new press box in 1995."

Last year, USC estimated the renovations would cost $100 millon. The Commission already installed a new Jumbotron and a new scoreboard over the tunnel.

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
