A great point in this segment on why Girls Aloud is the perfect antidote to USC's clandestine nature.

From Ben: "Mays is an All-American, a three-year starter at USC and owner of several SportsCenter top plays, but nothing compares to what he just accomplished. The senior safety put on his participatory journalist hat and attended a recent USC Song Girls practice to interview the squad and take part in some of the exercises......"

We know that Taylor is well-rounded and multi-talented. Will Taylor's expose' unravel the shocking truths behind the current SG regime, like the seminal piece from the inimitable Celeste Fremon did in 1991?

A: Sorry I'm still trying to grasp that breathless paragraph you just quoted . . . OK, back to the question. I'm going to ask Taylor this week if he uncovered any shocking truths or used the investigative skills of Celeste Fremon.

How would you rate the chances of Girls Aloud being selected as USC Song Girls? Here's how I would rate them:

Cheryl: 100%*
Kimberly: 0%
Nadine: 0%
Nicola: 100%
Sarah: 0%

*Cheryl has five tattoos

A: Slightly disagree. You are spot-on with Cheryl and Sarah, but I think Nadine would have an excellent chance. Besides, maybe Sunset Beach is considered an annex of the South Bay. Don't forget how important the South Bay is to the graying members of the selection committee.

We keep hearing how USC has many international students and encourages its students to spend a semester or year studying abroad. So is it possible we can do a permanent exchange program where we send the song girls to the UK and we in turn get Girls Aloud?

A: Hmmmm. The idea's already being discussed in tandem with sending the baseball team to India for their cricket team.

Except for Nicola, of course, do you know why we all love everything about Girls Aloud? Because the audition process to join the group was completely televised and there were no secrets on the tryouts! Funny thing that, isn't it?

A: This is why I do these forums, because the readers make great points like this one. A tryout process on national television watched by millions. Total transparency.
You've just hit the nail on the head: Girls Aloud is the ultimate anti-selection committee band.
