Gibson On O'Neill

| | Comments (7) |

We asked USC forward Taj Gibson about new coach Kevin O'Neill.
``Kevin O'Neill is a great guy,'' Gibson said. ``I talked to him in his office a couple days ago and he's a great coach. He told me if I needed any help to let me know. I think he's a perfect fit to follow Coach (Tim) Floyd.''

DeRozan and Taj going in the Top-30. I guess SC had a pretty good team last year, huh? Too bad more Trojans did not appreciate what they had. SC is not just a football school, basketball is important to a hard-core Trojan fan base as well.

Nice to see Taj giving a ringing endorsement to K.O. Taj was here for 3-years, is a mature young man, gave it his all, and will be a Trojan for life.

Yep. DeMar's alley oop dunks off of inbounds passes were pretty awesome to see live.

Good for Taj. He could have totally ripped the hire of O'Neil but took the high road. Taj shows hard work and sticking with it can pay off. If he can beef up a bit he may be able to stick around and have a descent pro career.

What does Gibson know about Coach O'Neill, calling him a great coach is way over the top just by the results at his previous collegiate stops. Really doesn't matter his opinion anyways since he decided not to come back for his senior year. Definitely not a young man anymore. Not thrilled about the Bulls taking him in the first round since they have a non-shooter in Noah already to control the backboard. Trojan for life will see if he gives back to the university with some of the two years guaranteed salary.
