Considering the fact USC basketball is under NCAA investigation (not to mention football), it's still somewhat jawdropping that Reggie Theus interviewed or was considered for the coaching vacancy.

Why? Has Reggie ever been sanctioned or accused of NCAA infractions? No.

Yeah, Wolf's saying why would Theus "stoop" to SC before coming to his senses. Twat.
But GoTroy it doesn't make us look better by calling a guy a douchebag because he changed his mind. Obviously there is a lot of talk out there and when stuff got splashed about Dixon, Van Gundy and a bunch of people who wouldn't a person have second thoughts. Heck Majerus signed, thought about and pulled out when we didn't have possible sanctions and actually had players. It didn't help that recruits were leaving as he interviewed and Dixon was on the other line with Garrett reiterating that he wouldn't come here regardless of what we offered.
O'Neill is a struggling journeyman who had his best or only run in 1994 ironically with a few players with shady AAU /agent connections. A player sued him for reneging on a scholarship just before school started when Northwestern pushed him out. DI hoops are hard to excel at without skirting the line. He may get the chance of a career if he can make things work. If not we got a guy who has a record of being a caretaker.

This does look like another caretaker hire. Garrett got lucky with Carroll, but, Kreuter has lead the baseball program to lower division status, look for the same with basketball.
